Q&A - Competition

How did you get started?

My friends talked me into buying a dirtbike 4 years ago then 3 months later they talked me into doing my first race. After that I was hooked!

List your competitive highlights:

Definitely would be 1st place at Monte Vista this year. I was really proud to get my first win. It was great to get that trophy!

What are you planning for next season?

I will be moving up to B class! I know the competition will be tough but judging by my lap times I should be competitive.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

I just became a father November 2nd! I am the proud father of a new baby boy Caelan Neil Allison! I delivered him and cut the cord! Becoming a father is definitely my biggest accomplishment.

Q&A - Personal

What inspires you to compete?

The constant challenge. Riding dirtbikes never gets easier.

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

This summer at Angel Fire I made a huge mistake by leaving the key for the cable lock in the hotel room. I didn't notice this until we went to unload the bike before the race. So we had to drive all the way back to the hotel room and get the key. By the time we got back to the race site my class was starting and by the time I got to the starting line I started at the back of the pack 4 minutes behind my class. I managed to fight my way through the pack of 57 riders to 6th in Open C and 11th Overall C.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

As a Firefighter I work 48 hours on and then 96 hours off. While I am at work I have an hour and a half to work out every day. Then on my 4 days off I have plenty of time to work out and to ride.

How's Life Treating You?

Life is a little rough now but also great. It is rough because the last race of the season at Monte Vista was a two day race. The first day I won 1st place in my class! The second day wasn't so great though. I got a bad start and fought my way through the pack to 2nd place and had almost caught the leader when I caught a bad bounce in the rocks and smashed my foot in between the bike and a tree. I managed to finish a lap then had to pull off. I ended up breaking 2 bones in my foot. One of which needed surgery to insert a pin. I'll be off the bike for 8 weeks. The great part right now is that my wife and I are having a baby and it is due the end of October!

Employment / Experience Summary

I have been working as a firefighter for almost 4 years now. It is a very rewarding job. I love working there. The job carries a lot of responsibility, and we are held to a higher standard by the public, so I try to conduct myself accordingly at all times.

Hi my name is Christopher Allison. I'm 25 years old and live in Farmington, New Mexico. I'm married to a wonderful lady named Megan who supports me in everything I do, and helps me in my pits. She is currently learning to ride and really enjoys going to the races. We just had a new baby boy named Caelan Neil Allison on November 2nd.  I work full time as a Firefighter for the City of Farmington where I have been employed for the last 3 years.   Being a Firefighter is a great job to have as a dirt bike rider. As a firefighter we are required to stay in shape and every day we work there is one and a half hours for PT. Our Fire Department is on a 48/96 schedule so basically we work for 2 days straight and then are off for 4 days. This schedule is great because it gives me plenty of time off to ride and spend time with family and friends. Along with being a Firefighter I am also an EMT-Basic. Being a medic is a great skill to have in the dangerous sport of dirt bike riding. In my spare time I also ski and ride mountain bikes for fitness and fun.
