2008
I took this year off ,read below, but I stayed busy and started a Gravity team for All Mountain Cyclery in Boulder City NV. I got a group of athletes together from begginers to a World Cup Pro. , and made sure that they had all the gear and parts they needed . I went after some big companies and recieved tremendous support from them. AMC athletes were on the poduim literally every race, and always had a smile on their face. I took great pride in this, and it made me feel like a part of the racing even though I was injured. I also looked at this past year as being a sales rep for my sponsors and promoted them wherever I was, I also took great pride in this because it made me feel good talking to the public informing them about product they had no idea about. I want to thank all of my sponosors and athletes for the continued support, and I will be back next year with a grin on my face and ready to race.
2007/2008 - It has been a rough two years for me with only attending 6 events. I injured my back at Sea Otter of 2006 and have been trying to get back on track, but everytime I think Im healthy and go 100 percent it goes out again. I compressed my S1, L5 ( had a 9 mm pertusion of disk) vertabrae and fracture ribs during the 2007 Sea Otter DH practice, and still dragged my self to the starting gate for a 28th place out of 42 people and qualified 30th in the DS out of 70 something people in the 19 and up Expert catagory. I then took the rest of the year slow and trained with James Wilson, ( alot of core strengthning witch I am still doing to date and also had a series of 6 epidoral anti inflamatory shots injected into my back witch sucked back in the 9 mm pertusion avoiding surgury) . This year I raced the Bootleg Canyon race and caught up to the guy in front of me in the first minute of the race, finally passed him 30 seconds later and took 6th place. For the 2009/10 year I am moving up straight to Semi Pro, witch I was approved for in 2005/2006 after taking 3rd in the NMBS series DH and 7th in the 4X, DS. I am still riding everyday, just not competing at the present time, but will be back strong for next season. I would like to thank my sponsors for hanging in there with me , and my freinds for all of the support and kind words.
I also have teamed up with the local Forestry Department and adopted the mountain where I ride and train. I am taking part in trash cleanup, and making the mountain safe for hikers and Mtbing as people were dumping their trash and shooting guns into the trailhead.
