AUSTIN WITH ALAN COOKE, ALISTAR WHITTON, & CHRIS PASTRAS FROM FUEL TVFUEL TV COMES TO ROBERSONVILLE, NCAbout two weeks ago, Fuel TV was in town filming professional BMX rider Alan Cooke. Alan, whose roots go back to motocross, wanted to get some footage of him in the dirt. So Alan, Alistar Whitton, Chris Pastras, & the rest of the Fuel Crew headed to our track in Robersonville with Andy & Austin. Austin had a blast riding with Alan and meeting the crew from Fuel TV. We feel very blessed to have Fuel come visit our track. The footage was first aired Saturday, September 16. We will try to place a link to the footage if one is made available on Fuel. He didn't get hurt, just a little scared, and fell back into last place. He was off the bike for a while before getting back on, but did his best to keep fighting until the end. In the second moto, Austin had a great start, and was running about 8th when the kid in front of him flipped and Austin ran into his bike. But Austin got his bike up and charged ahead. He was racing awesome, until he fell again in a corner. Then he charged on again until the end. When Austin was up, he raced the hardest we've ever seen him race. So we were so proud of him for that reason. As long as Austin gives his best, then we are pleased as his parents. Of course, we always like to see better numbers for results, but Austin trying his best and keeping a positive attitude is what matters to us most! This is probably the last qualifier we will do this year. Our goal in racing the qualifiers was to expose Austin to the qualifer atmosphere, so he can be even better prepared next year. We have one more year to try and qualify on the 50, if we choose to, and of course several years to look forward to on the 65. THANKS TO OUR SPONSORS FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT! Short Clips from Austin's First Loretta Lynn Qualifier Austin races his first Loretta Lynn Qualifier at Lake SugartreeOn April 12th, Austin raced his first Loretta Lynn Qualifier at Lake Sugartree MX in Axton VA. Austin did not qualify but he did get 13th out of 20. Included in the top 10 racers were Hayden Justice, David Milana (who placed 2nd at Lake Whitney), and National Cobra Riders Dawson Evitts, Logan Leitzel, and Joshua Strickland. So the competition was pretty stiff. In addition, this race was by far the largest race we have ever been to. Just the overall race size alone was very intimidating to us as parents. But Austin did a great job of staying focused and racing his race. The clips above show Austin jumping the finish line jump and Austin's start in moto#2. Austin got off to a bad start in moto#2 (he's on the far outside). The bike bogged at the gate, and Austin was just about dead last, but then the power kicks in and Austin fights back to slip past several riders around the first turn and up the hill. Austin was running in 5th for a while, and then got passed in the whoops. But overall, we were very pleased with his performance. This is our first year competing in arenacross, and Austin seems to really enjoy it! We look forward to running some more of these next year, and maybe pursuing a shot at Vegas.
