How did you get started?I started as a kid like most people, but my first real taste of mountain biking was in 2000 when I was 17. I got hooked on the sport and went after it full speed. I entered my first downhill race at Keystone, Colorado in 2003. I knew the course well, and I ended up winning the beginner class. In 2004 I did the same race, this time in the sport class. I ended up 5th out of 21. I was really having fun racing and liked the idea of riding with good people who are passionate about mountain bikes. In 2005 I set out to race the entire Mountain States Cup Series in the expert class. I definitely would have been more competitive racing sport, but I learned so much about racing that year from some talented riders. Everyone on the race scene was very encouraging and willing to lend advice if you asked for it. That helped a lot ,especially on the MX/DS side. I had never done that type of riding until then. Since 2006 I have been doing as many races as possible, pushing my way farther to the top spot on the podium in both MX and DH at the expert level. It has been great to be involved with the Mountain States Cup race series. Racing both MX and DH over the years has made me a very well rounded rider. I love the racing lifestyle because you ride, learn, and stay in shape. This year I plan on training and riding more than ever to get to the top. I'm very excited for this season, I think 2009 is going to be a big year for me. What are you planning for next season?* Riding and training to get better, faster, stronger... * Racing DH and MX/DS CAT.1 on the 2009 Mountain States Cup Series * Racing DH and MX at the 2009 USAC National Championships in Sol Vista, Colorado * Getting more friends involved. * Having fun riding and progressing my skills like always. What has been your biggest accomplishment?I've felt my training and hard work payoff, and had some decent results in races. That feels pretty good. But, I would say my biggest accomplishment in mountain biking would be my skill progression over the years. I'm doing things on my bike now that I was dreaming about when I first started in the sport. It feels great to have come so far. The cool thing is there is still so much to discover and get better at. That's what keeps me at it.
