Okay Folks,  Lets get Jeremy to the Chileno Valley Classic!!!!!  Jeremy started out in GREAT class as an 8th grader,  at Goethe Middle School in Sacramento.  For those of you that don't know, thats Gang Resistance Education And Training.  Jeremy has come a long way to become Co-Captain of the Luther Burbank High School Team, and  a JV racer as a Junior.  He has been racing in the NorCal league for the last two years, and has improved each year.  For someone who has no trails without driving at least 40 minutes from South Sacramento, Jeremy has become quite the mountain biker!!!!! He signed up to ride at this fundraiser ride.  The top fundraiser team gets a new Gary Fisher Bike :  http://fisherbikes.com/bike/model/hifi-pro  Please support Jeremy at the following website.   If you can't sponsor him...please send him good vibes!

Our team had an awesome time at Sea Otter, and got to camp out, BBQ, and ride in the fun ride with John Tomac and Ned Overend, as well as check out the expo area.

He does everything this bloke!John Tomac by tabounds.

All of our riders looked good up the hills, and going down them.  We got lucky and got to ride with two legends, who were both very nice guys.  John Tomac actually told freshman Gerald that he did not need to put his saddle so high up!

After the last few weeks of practice, I am sure you will all do great at Folsom Lake for the next NORCAL race.

Its been a while since we had a new blog entry.  You guys had a very good practice up in Auburn, and I was very pleased with the effort that I saw in all of you.  You rode up the hills without complaining, and railed the singletrack on the connector trail.  Then you suffered with a little more uphill for some sick downhill riding.  You all rode within your limits, yet pushed yourselves just a little.  I liked what I saw, and I am also confident you will do fine at Sea Otter and the last two NorCal races.

Meet at Rosa Parks on Sunday at 1100 hrs.  Bring your bike, your helmet, and all of your gear.  Coach jRay will be driving you to a nice place to ride.  Please train hard, as your first race is only a few weeks away.  The more hard riding you do, the better.  You guys are looking good as a team, and I only expect great things from you this season.  Do whatever Coach JRay asks of you at practice, and I am sure you will all do fine.  Due to some other circumstances, there will be no official Friday practice.

So bring your off road bike, helmet, water, and all of your gear, and be ready to rock.

Ok,  I am thinking of taking the team back to Cool on the 15 of February to ride the Olmstead Loop.  We have not been there in about a year, and it is a fun trail.  I think it is a lot funner than Folsom Lake in Granite Bay, mainly because of the ups and downs.  It is a little technical, but nothing you racers can't handle...jaja.

Due to unfortunate circumstances, there was no Saturday ride this week.  Sorry racers, but an emergency came up.  Please meet at the Discovery Park Bridge on Sunday at 1100 to ride.  The ride will be canceled if there is rain.  Bring your helmet and bike as well as all your gear.  Next week will definitely be more "off road".  I will see you there.

Wednesdays practice will be at the Luther Burbank trail that was built last season, just North of the football field, by Florin Rd.   Please be on time at 4:30, and have your bike, helmet, and all gear with you.

Saturday's ride at Folsom Lake went very well.  We saw the other schools out on the trail, and all was jovial.  We had very few incidents, other than Yamile popping a chain by the lake.  All in all, it was a good ride.  We look forward to an even better ride on Sunday...stay tuned for the details.

Keep riding until your next practice!!! The first race will be here before you know it racers.

Coach Kraintz will meet you guys at Rosa Parks Middle School at 0700.   Be there with all of your gear ready, helmet, a change of clothes, your bike, and a bag.  If it is muddy, you will want to change after the ride.   Coach will drive you to Folsom Lake in Granite Bay, where we will go over some fundamentals again, before getting in some good base miles.  Be ready to ride.  We will keep breaks to a minimum.  We want you to have fun, as well as improve.   We will be riding from the Junior High where last year'c clinic was, and up until the bench.  We will have plenty of practice in between as well.  See you at the trailhead!!!!
