I started racing at the age of 14 at a local DH race series which I was dragged along to by a mate to try out, I entered the race and I came higher than expected I was competing against adults and teens that race in the nationals. I felt such an achievement from this I continued to enter the rest of that season’s races and in the mean time I started to do freeride stuff like jumps and drops. I also did some motocross because I wanted to become an all-round good bike rider I just couldn’t get enough of the feeling.
In 2005 I was in local paper for wining Pembs super series winter cup which I was determined to win, that was a big step for me in my Downhill career. From wining the winter series I made it on to team laidback and chillin which were sponsored by howies and a local bike shop. In 2006 I applied for a job at my local Halfords bikehut in the hope to put my knowledge to good use . In 2007 I took a year out form racing to train and I Went and stayed in Scotland for month to train on the world cup track in fort William and train with some of the top pros to learn new skills. The whole idea of having the season out was to train hard to become faster so I could come back for the 2008 season and dominate. I am on Alan Millway’s training program (trains top pros) and I visit the local gym every week. every day I’m free I get out on my bike riding local trails practicing my skills and try to beat my best times as I’m a very competitive racer and my life revolves around my riding, everything I do I have to think how it affects my riding. I have my own pro photographer who attends my races and is out when I’m training. I also have a mechanic who has worked for Halfords for years and is one of the best bike mechanics around. I am currently in process of building a website where if you were to sponsor me I would Feature your company as a sponsor, I would also mention your company on my, My space, facebook and bebo profiles to target the younger community. At the moment I am currently sponsored by Halfords BikeHut the reason I am not continuing with them in to 2009 is because they are very unorganised and I was delayed to starting the 08 session till may because they didn’t get the kit sorted in time and licences sent out which then affected my over all results. So far this session I have gained more than enough BC points to enter the NPS next year. My current national rank is 88th that’s out of elite/expert/senior categories together unfortunately I had to miss out on the British national champs this year because of Halfords not getting my entry sent off in time, but I managed to enter the welsh national champs and came 25th overall, I have also been racing a few of the Different British series and looking forward to finding out my over all results at the end of the session as currently I am doing very well.
