Picture in the Pickle

I made it! I am going to Loretta Lynns for my first time ever! I will be racing in the 65 7-9 stock class. I ended up 2nd overall at the regional this past weekend at Washougal. I am so happy I just wish I could have made it in the Mod class too. Good luck to everyone else still trying to make it!

This weekend is the regional qualifier at Washougal. I love Washougal so I hope I do well and can make it to Loretta's. I've never been there but heard its a blast. It should be a lot of fun no matter what, they have recently changed the track and I rode it for the first time a couple of weeks ago and really liked how they changed it.

Its also Memorial Day next Monday, so I want to say thank you to all the Veterans that served and sacrificed their lives so that we may have freedom!

Well, we didn't go to Vegas and I am really bummed. I've been checking out some of the video clips online and boy does the track look awesome! There are some cool pictures on amateurmx.com and a video. Definethemoment.net has some cool video too, so does motoxposure.com. Anyways, I just really wish I was there. Were thinking about heading to Washougal this weekend, but it sounds like it's going to be a mud race. Maybe we'll head to eastern washington for some dry riding. Next week I have dumb WASL testing, its a Washington state school thing, so I won't be able to go too far for riding, I have been studying hard for it though, I'm gonna take a break and go ride right now,

see ya,

So I have been home from Texas for only a couple of weeks now and it's already time to head for Vegas. My parents are working hard trying to work things out so I can go. We won't know until the last minute, so hopefully I'll see some of you in Vegas.

I've returned home from racing in Texas. I wish things had gone better at Lake Whitney, I love that track. Unfortunately I got taken out on some of my best starts and had to work my way from the back. Things went much better at Oak Hill, where I had a 3rd place finish in my 65 mod class. This was my first podium finish at a national so I was really excited. The stock class didn't go well at all. My last race was the open. I spun on the gate, concrete is tough, especially early in the morning when it has dew on it. Anyways I came out probably 31st and worked my way up to 11th. I rode so hard and really had fun. I wish I could have had a better start and finished better, but I learned so much from those two weeks of racing that I will take with me.

See ya,

The spring nationals are coming up fast and I can hardly wait. I'm leaving in a couple of weeks with my mom, my brother Mat, and my little sister Jewelle. My Dad is staying home because he has to run work, but he might try to fly down for the mains. I'm looking forward to seeing all my friends again and see how everyone is doing. I'm sure it is going to be great racing this year. Good luck to everyone!

So after my weekend at the Salem BooKoo, I really wanted to be able to do well when I went to Yakima. I missed Friday evening, but made it for Saturday nights racing. I had lots of fun. Before the racing started I was walking around and got interviewed by one of the announcers, I didn't know what to say, I guess I just froze, But fortunately I was wearing my Cliffs Cycle Center jacket with my name and number on it, so they just read it out loud. Racing went pretty well, I ended up 4th, which was a let down because I really wanted to make it on the podium. I had second in my heat race, but during the main, I didn't get as good of a start so it was hard to make up ground.  I fought so hard for the third place spot, but the kid that beat me had just won the 150 class race and so he had the whoops down and would pull away in that section, he was actually pretty good through the whoops, which were pretty hard. Sunday, I finally redeemed myself.  I won my heat race and the main! I was so excited I threw my arm up over the finish! Finally things went well for me at a arenacross race. I decided I like arenacross, its fun, its hard, but it good to know how to race it.

I raced in the Friday and Saturday evening 65 7-11 races with results that were not what I had hoped for. On Friday, I did pretty good in my heat race, 5th. In the main I came out in 2nd, but got taken out right before the Catapult and fell back to 5th place. On Saturday things went a little better in my heat race, a 2nd. In the main however I got knocked on the start but saved it, went into the whoops and got knocked down and couldn't get my bike up and turned around or started. I ended up 15th. On Sunday I raced the 65 7-9 class and won my heat race. For the main, I had the holeshot and led the entire race until my bike stalled in the whoops on the last lap! I kicked and kicked and it would not start. Finally I got it started but it was too late and I ended up 7th.

I made it in a magazine, The Pickle. It's nothing big, just a picture of me from Ponca on the page that provides information on Washington state. Whats funny is they mispelled my name. They spelled  it Celeb instead of  Caleb. So now my friends are calling me "Celeb". I don't care though, I'm just happy to be in the magazine at all. So thank you Pickle for putting my picture in your magazine and you can call me any thing you want, just don't call me late for dinner!
