I shouldn't complain too much, as I know my comrades in the North would love to have this problem.  But Jonathan and I put in 100 miles on the bike yesterday.  Since we both have brides and squids at home, we had to leave early.  We were on the road at 5:30am, to a 32 degree temperature, 10 degrees colder than Weather.com had told us the night before.

The first 2.5 to 3 hours were a bit chilly, but we were dressed appropriately.  The second half of the ride was a bit warmer once the sun came out.  It was odd to pass by other groups on the road at noon, when we finished, that were riding in shorts and short sleeved jerseys.  Compared to us, with our tights, jackets and shoe covers on.

We are looking to partner with a family/business in Blue Ridge, Texas, to act as a changing/winter gear holding facility at the half way point of our mileage builder rides.  :)

More pics coming soon.

There are only 9.5 training weeks until Ironman Arizona.

After minor setback, thanks to a bout with Runner's Knee, over the holidays, I am back in gear with my training plan.  The weekends are long (4 hour brick this Saturday and 6 hour bike ride on Sunday) and swimming in a 25 yard pool for over 90 minutes gets quite boring.  But I am getting more and more prepared with each session, both physically and mentally.  I am ready for the 140.6 challenge.

Hotel plans are falling into place.  We got a room that is a bit over a mile away from transition, which is going to be invaluable on race day, since we are bringing the kids along.  I suspect I will miss them on one of the bike loops, but I figure I will see everyone during the 3 loops on the run.

Train on.
