Q&A

Why do you like this sport?

It's a sport where you control your fate. You set the rules. You control how far on the edge you go, there is no big bruiser out there looking to kill you, only you pushing yourself to find that fine line of destruction and control and only you are responsible if you blow up. It's just pure ecstasy to rail corners and just ride my bike, be it a race or a nightly trail-ride with some friends.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

Although I work weekdays at a bike shop in Stowe. I train everyday I'm not racing. It usually it consists of going out on 2-5 hour trail rides after work, and about once a week I go to a bike park to run laps all day as practice. Then usually in the morning before work me and the "boys" will go dirt jumping and pump track seshing! Basically I live biking. Then in the winter I usually do about 30 minutes a day on the exercise bike along with a rigorous high school hockey training schedule. And also every monday night I go to the local VT indoor skate park so that I don't lose any bike control...When I write out what I do to "train" it seems like alot. But I never have thought of it as training before. I just go out and do what I do best and enjoy.

Q&A - Competition

List your competitive highlights:

2009-Season 5th place at Us Open JR Am Giant Slalom (2009). 11th at DH at Us Open Jr Am (2009). Gravity East dual slalom series Champion (2009). Gravity East 2nd place DH series finals (2009).

What are you planning for next season?

I plan to start off the season with top 3 in both Us Open Events. Then race another full season on the Gravity East circuit as a junior expert. I plan on making my times comparable to the top 20 in the pro class all year. I also plan on working and saving up so that I am able to go to compete in nationals and crankworx.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

In competition wise, It has to be my 5th place at the Us Open Giant Slalom. But I also consider helping build one of the most infamous bike parks in new england (Stowe Bike park) as another one of my biggest accomplishments.
