After nearly 10 years in the liquor industry, in 1993, Jeff’s doctor made matters simple, shape up or dies young. So he hired Josie, a personal trainer, to coach him back to health. He complained about delayed onset muscle pain and told her none of the pain relievers on the market really worked. She joked that we should make something especially for him. They did and it was the birth of KINeSYS and a new partnership in business and life.
With Josie’s degree in exercise science, her background working for a top tier cosmetics company and with the help of experts in chemistry, dermatology and sports medicine, they were pioneers with their products- a “hands free” topical analgesic and in a new category of suncare- performance sunscreens. One of the doctors told them that: Athletes have a lower incidence of most disease expect one, which is higher in athletes- SKIN CANCER- because of the time they spend training and competing outdoors. They asked a number of friends, who were top athletes, why they don't use sunscreen? The athletes said they didn't like that most sunscreens were oily, greasy, hard to apply, too thick, stung their eyes, made them feel like they were wearing plastic and so on.
In 1994 KINeSYS launched the first and original oil, alcohol, PABA, preservative and paraben free spray sunscreen that is water & sweat resistant, hypoallergenic and won't block pores. KINeSYS has since become the choice of top athletes, families and dermatologists.
