Cross season starts Saturday, I have done a few prep Crits late in the season and feel ok going into this year. We'll see how it goes, eh?...

Just an update-no new baby yet! but really getting kinda impatient (at least my wife is). I have gotten through the back spasms from last week, and need to ease up a little in my training. I was only really two weeks in and i did some sprints followed up by a race sim, si\o i think I may have pushed a little too hard, and my body shoved back. But, I rode the other day and it felt OK. I'm gonna take it slow for a few days more and see how i feel.

I remember what it was like to be akid. Ride all day, crash-a lot, go party and wake up two hours later and do it again. it dawned on me that that is exactly the resaon it hurts to do anything these days. oh well, it was fun and now i have advil. Going for a ride in a moment. I have been on the trainer for two weeks now, and i want to go outside but i'm convinced my wife will go into labor the minute i get thirty miles out to come back uphill and into a headwind. damn you, Murphy. getting stronger and faster, lots of aching body parts. Pretty boring update-but until race season it is fairly status-quo. until next week...

Oh boy. Did it hurt this much the last time? I've been putting in lots of trainer sessions lately. It is chilly here in Sunny California, and we are expecting our second child any day now, so I don't want to stray too far from home right now. Sessions are getting better-CTS trainig DVD's and Spinervals 30 min workouts with added minutes to get some base in. I'm still really struggling with the transition from sedentary post surgery lifestyle to active competitor but i'm starting to feel it now in my legs so all looks well. First "race" is March 3-a local training crit, and first major race is may 25th (maybe April 5th, depends on legs and weight) so schedule is advancing smoothly. I'd like to thank all of my new sponsors for 2009, as times get tough it is good to see companies help out the industry, and hopefully my representation helps get the product name to the enthusiast cyclists out there. Thanks to Rudy Project, Vetta, Beljum Budder, Kore, and thanks to MotorTabs and SockGuy for continuing to help me out again this year. My race scedule will be posted soon, and my ultimate goal this year is a successful cyclocross season, as i have missed the last two due to an injury sustained during the 2007 season. I'll write again...later

After a loooooong recovery from a torn Labrum and some opposite shoulder probs, i am back on the bike. Now my second child is due, and I am gearing up for a full season of road and TT to get me rerady for next year's 'cross adventure-oh and I'm gonna toss in som full time school, too. whew...thanks to my sponsors from 2008, and I look forward to working with some new groups in 2009. Thats all for now, time to ride! (it's raining and I'm stalling)

Ok, three weeks until I get fixed...what have i been doingv for the past month?

Riding. Lots. I am on a really specific plan www.liquidfitness.com if anyone wants to check it out, I like it a lot. Went on my first team/group ride and got hammered last saturday. I hope this upcoming ride I give a little more.

i am very pleased with my progress-I think if all goes as planned with surgery and rehab, I should be able to have a decent 'cross season-I'm sure It will be beter than last year.

There is an interesting article on the cxmagazine website about keeping 'cross real, and secret, and it almost turned me off of the whole deal, until i went and wrote thru my thoughts. The only way to keep something alive is to grow it, to feed it-and in the case of sport, that means allowing new people, whatever their motivation, to participate and enjoy, and it is the veterans responsibility to welcome  and teach  the rookies. without new blood in the water, the sharks would leave.

So I'll end this update by saying thanks to Sockguy, Don Joy and Motortabs-for sponsoring or supporting grassroots racing/ racers (ME!) and to everyone who brings something to the sport you compete in, whether it is people, support, food, cowbells, ac/dc...

Untill next week

I'm hiring at my shop right now, www.wheelworld.com and I can't beleive the number of resume's I get that have rediculously poor grammar. Bizzness?????? How can you expet to...anyways, anyone who posibly reads this in Los Angeles drop us a line if you are interested.

Went Mountain biking with my Wife on Sunday. I miss the trees sometimes. We had a blast, the trail has some wicked rocky nasty downs that i railed throughand some even more wicked ups that i hike-a-biked through. Don't have my climbing legs back yet.

Surgery is coming...my goal is to rehab and do a few el dorado crits in june and july, a stage race and time trials  in july and august. Hopefully this will put a charge in my legs for 'cross season and I can have abetter show than last year.

My diet is getting waaaay better. After the self destruction i'm finally getting back on track. Lost 5 pounds and feel better for sure. But this is a long road.

Pretty boring piece today, i could sing a song for all of you, but you wouldn't hear it anyway,so I won't. oh yeah, road ride last night-kept my HR at 170 MAX, 140 avg. Did some windup sprints, and felt pretty-well i wouldn't go that far, I felt OK for a quick "gotta get on the bike" ride.

till the next one-mm

Wednsday's ride wasn't so bad. My hr stayed at a really high but not terrifying 150 bpm. my route was good for a quick a ride and i did two sprint intervals that felt slow, but ok. I didnt ride thursday-planned day off and friday-Doctor visit, early work.

Went to the final 'cross race of the year on Saturday-I had set this race as one of my goals for the year. It was a good course, and a good race. Hopefully i got some good pics. Have to see those on my page next week.

Going to ride mountain bike today, yeah...My wife and i have been looking forward to this for a while. I 'm going down for surgery soon, so this might be my last ride for a few months-

thanks for reding this me, i'll tak to me soon

Ride tuesday morning-my HR shoots to 170 bpm in like 4 minutes...That is scary.

Avg Hr 153. that is scarier.

Ride was short 35 mins, 13.7 MPH, avg CAD 57

i do live in the hills, so cut me a little slack. However my previous avg (3 mos ago) was 19 mph w/ cad of 88, an avg hr of 119 soooo....lesson learned cheeseburgers and beer  do NOT substitute fir ike riding.

My meal plan is getting better, yesterday it was cereal and coffee, o track bar, two oranges, turkey and swiss on wheat with no mayo (*i think a first), some cheeze its, pasta w/ red sauce and ground lean turkey. a coupla spoonfuls of sherbe for dessert.

Man that sounds like a lot, i'll cut it back today.

Allright me, I'll se me tomorrow.

New Season begins Now!!!

New Team (Cyclocrossworld.com) New season (yeah) Hopefully new results...

Last 4 Crits were brutal, but good effort for this season. I'll let you know how much more work i need to do after this saturday's race. Later...
