My name is Josh and I’m 9 years-old. I’ve been riding since I was 4 years-old, when I got my Honda CR 50 from Santa for Christmas. It’s my favorite thing to do. I love the competition and the challenge of always getting better and better.
I finished out the 2007 race season on KTMs in the 50 and 65 beginner classes. In 2008 I finished off the season in a Polini for the 50cc Advanced Class winning the #1 plate, a Kawasaki for the 65cc Advanced Class, and a Kawasaki 85cc in the Beginner Class, thanks to my sponsor Cycle City Maui.
So far this year (2009), I'm having a blast racing the 65cc Advanced class, the 85cc Beginner class and I started racing the kids PitBike class. I’ve been competing in our neighbor islands of Oahu and Kauai, which is harder now without the SuperFerry. This year I also got to go to Vegas for the Maxxis Mini Moto race at the Orleans, and I raced at the 2009 Mammoth Mountains MX event. That was awesome!!
Even though I’m really competitive and I like to win, the most important thing my Dad’s taught me is to always keep it safe. I was one of the first riders in Maui to wear a Leatt brace. Plus, I know that showing off or trying to push too hard just isn’t safe and definitely not worth getting hurt over. So I always ride as hard as I can, but I know what my limits are.
I’m stoked to have 100% help from my Dad. If it weren’t for him I wouldn’t have a chance to do this. I’m also very grateful to my local sponsors at Cycle City Maui (Maui Kawasaki), as well as Monster Energy, Dunlop, Langston Racing, ASV Inventions, Gaerne Boot Co., Works Connection, AMSOIL, Twin Air, Boyesen, MotoX Support, Factory Backing, ODI, and Scott USA, for all their support. I just want to make them proud of me…
