One of our most common questions we get is “how do I get sponsored?”  Or “what does it take to get flow?”  We figured we would give some insight on our sponsorship teams and program in general.

First, let’s touch on the Vengeance Mafia.  Back when we started this whole sponsorship team, all we had was the Mafia.  Every person on our AM team or Flow team has been through the Mafia sponsorship program.  The Mafia athletes are the athletes that make the Vengeance machine go.  The Mafia are the true faces of the brand, the people getting our name out and repping Vengeance day in and day out.  There have been guys down since day one that helped us grow quicker then we could have imagined.  So it comes down to this; a lot of people wonder if the Mafia (or a lot of Sponsorhouse sponsorships from companies) are “true sponsorships.”  Being sponsored by us, whether it be AM, Flow, Mafia, every person, every level, if you are sponsored by Vengeance, you have a real sponsorship from us.  We wouldn’t put our name on anything or anyone that might jeopardize our credibility or legitimacy we are working so hard to continue building.  A sponsorship is only as serious as you take it.  If you think that a discount sponsorship isn’t worth a damn, then you won’t make it worth a damn.  Truth be told a lot of companies out there (and yes the real big large ones do this too) start guys out on a discount sponsorship.  For us it is a great way to get guys on our team and keep an eye on them.  People we want to rep us, but maybe aren’t quite at a flow level yet.  If you’re in the Mafia, this is your opportunity, make the most of it. 

Some good examples are guys like Krew Cunnington and Jordan Meadows.  Two guys who were captains when they got sponsored by us less then a year ago.  They worked hard, kept pounding us with better and better footy and now they are Flow.  They took the sponsorship serious, believed in us, but more importantly believed in themselves.  A sponsorship, no matter what level is an opportunity to show a company what you can do.  If you do a good job then you should be rewarded and that’s pretty much the jist of sponsorship, it’s a two way street, the company does what it can to help you out and you do what you can to help the company out.  But in the end it is only as good as the relationship you have with the company and the company has with you.  So no matter what level sponsorship, make the most of your opportunity.

At the end of the day, we can’t speak for every company.  Do your research on the company what they have to offer and see how they treat you and respond to you.  There are a lot of decent companies out there and there are some that are shady as hell.  We are only one company and in the end we are just a growing East Coast company, but this our take on it.  We do give out AM deals and Flow deals to people off of Loop’d.  But at the end of the day, those teams are elite teams that go to people who have worked hard to get the skills they have and to get where they are at.    

A lot of people that get caught up in the sponsorship obsession forget the reason why you do what you do in the first place, because you love it.  It’s what inspires us every day.  We love building this company with everyone out there, it’s our passion.  No matter what your sport, sponsored or not, you gotta do it because you love it and because it’s what drives you.  Sponsorships will come if you just keep doing what you love to do. 

Most of our sponsored athletes existing contracts (unless you have just been sponsored from October until now) have expiring contracts.  No need to reapply as we will be sending out renewal offers soon.

Finally, on our website, we announced our official Vengeance AM's and Flow Team.  Congrats to the guys on the teams and look for big things from them coming in 2009.  We are always growing the team and adding great athletes, so def keep in touch with us and sending us new footy!

Hey Everyone,

It's been awhile since we had a State of Vengeance blog.  We wanted to drop a few lines and let everyone know what the latest goings on are!

First, incase you haven't seen on our website yet, the issue with our debut ad featuring David McKee in Focus Skateboard Mag is now out, so be sure to hit up local skateshop and pick it up.  They are one of the premier East Coast mags and we are stoked to be working with them!

We have the back cover of a Colorado BMX magazine called Th Link BMX coming out soon also, featuring Ryan Valix, so if you are in the Colorado area, look for that around end of December.

Our new line of clothing should out in early December.  We know you all have been waiting patiently and demanding new stuff and we know the next line won't let you down.  It features some killer designs that really show our progress and evolution as a company.  And of course, it features the Vengeance hoodie!  We are totally stoked to drop these to you all and can't wait!

The Cheat Death video is really generating some hype already.  We have an incredible line up of talent and are busting our ass to get a killer debut video out next spring.  The video is taking on a real breakout feel and with the talent scheduled there is no wonder.  If you haven't read about it yet, go to the website and check it out.

Our website is being totally redesigned as well, which should be done by month's end.  With a lot of new features and a new layout it will take us to the next level. 

Also, on the new web site will be the announcements of our official Am and Flow teams!  Be sure to check the new page out when it drops, because it will truely blow your mind.

Congrats to David McKee for getting picked up by DC Shoes (flow).  That is a major step and we are glad to have him on our team as well.

In some touring news, we are taking a trip to Canada from Nov. 14-18 and doing a lot of serious promo stuff so if you are around the Niagra Falls region in Canada we will be out full force!

The t-shirt contest winner will be announced next week.  Yes we are aware we are a week late, but we were torn between 2 shirts and it was a tough call.  Thank you to everyone for your votes, comments and messages.  A lot of hard work was put into the contest from everyone and we look forward to announcing the winner.

The Spread Vengeance contest is doing excellent.  If you haven't heard / checked it out yet, definately do so.  With $100 in cash prizes and the winners also receiving Vengeance gear, it is a great shot to win some cash and gear just for spreading our name!  Tyler Claudio is currently in the lead with Jonathan Isenhour close behind!  There is still a month left, so check it out and get in!
