finished this grueling event... and I was one of them. I am honestly surprised to see that even 11 people finished. We had somebody fresh for each hour of the bike. For safety reasons they had to give us a mandatory potty break after 8 hours of riding. Only because everyone wanted the nice prizes they were giving out. So, I went 8 full hrs in the saddle before getting off to go pee...that was rough. I had to go at about hr 4 and really had to go at the 7 hr mark. It got worse and worse especially when the instructor wanted us to get in the aero position and sprint as fast as we could. I consumed about 12 GU gels, 8 packs of GU chomps, 6 bottles of GU Brew, and 4 bottles water. I saw a lot of people cramping and I wasn't, and that's because I had my GU.

1st 70.3 Ironman...April 25th in Galveston, TX. I am looking forward to hopefully a fast race...

SERIOUSLY! Race canceled due to weather! I was really looking to 42 miles of MTB pain, but I guess I will do the local 5k this weekend, and ride myself to death on the trail here. OH! Hell does freeze over...that's just what it did here in Abilene last night and maybe tonight again. I cant wait to move back east one day...

To do or not to do...I think XTERRA should just open more slots to those athletes that deserve to go or have earned their slot. Ive always told myself I would only go if I qualified...somehow putting in to win a raffle makes it less special. Sure, it would be a cool experience but I'm not going to give in. So, for all of you out there that want to take this spot away from those who actually deserve to go...sign up at midnight tonight and enjoy your undeserving selves and crash the party at Maui. Its been a long day and my grumpy butt needs some sleep so I can rest up for another HARD day of training to race again this weekend. I will be out honing my skills as a dedicated athlete tearing up the trail as I do all year around. I hope all that sign up feel good about their choices and can live with themselves...good night.

test run today in about 15 minutes. Should be a great day:) Next weekend is a big weekend of racing at Camp Eagle for the MTB marathon...over 40 miles of trail racing! Wooohooo!

so pumped I had to run...did ten miles in record time:) Got home just in time to feed my newborn...and then get about 3hrs of sleep...hope I can stay up for the Steeler game.
