Background

I grew up riding motorcycles as a family activitiy.  I started riding motorcycles about the same time I learned to ride a bicycle.  Growing up my motorcycles included a Yamaha Trail 80, Hodaka Ace 100, DKW 125 and as I grew up I graduated to Husqvarna 360 and 500's.

I started racing in 1984 by entering into the Barstow to Vegas race in the beginner class.  I raced a few races off and on until 1986, when I began racing frequently and became very competitive in the Novice Class.

After a serious injury at the end of 1986, I recovered to take 3rd place in my class in the 1986 Barstow to Vegas, despite riding about 20 miles on a front flat.

I started 1987 off with a promotion in class to Open Amateur.  My first Amateur race resulted in a 2nd in class and 17th overall finish despite running in about 100th place at the bomb.   A few weeks later, my bike was stolen and a few personal set backs forced me to leave both riding and racing.

Picking up my racing career again in 2008 has been an extremely fun and rewarding experience.  I have won and/or placed in the vast majority of my races this year and have earned my promotion to the Senior Expert class.  I finished the year #11 in the Senior Heavyweight class out of 335 licensed riders.
