Welcome to 2009!
2009 brings new opportunities and challenges. I'm really excited to race the full year in the expert class this year. I plan to start my racing season the first week of February.
I'm still having difficutlies recovering from injuries I sustained in October. My neck injury has not reacted as well as I had hoped. I'm still having stiffness and pain in my rehabilitation. My wrist has recovered fairly well and only has minor pain in some activities. It is not affecting my riding.
The economy has put a significant dent in my business, but I still plan to get 20 finishes this year and have a goal of earning a top 10 plate. I ended 2008 at #11 out of 335 licensed racers in my class.
This month will be about getting healthy and getting in shape. I believe I can be even more competitive in the expert class by staying in top shape and getting plenty of practice riding in. My racing class is stacked with excellent talent and a top 10 finish for the year will require a lot of things to go right, but I'm up for the challenge.
Much thanks goes out to my sponsors who helped me in 2008 and will help me acheive my goals for 2009. Tremendous thanks also goes to Denise, who has constantly supported me and encouraged me to chase my dreams.
Here's to a fun, successful and safe 2009!
