Overview

How I got started

I started XC mountain biking in 2000, and discovered DH in 2002.   That really got me motivated to ride more and more, and the competition pushed me to ride more challenging terrain and continue to push myself.    Not to mention it's great fun to meet new people and travel to new places to ride!

Goals for the Future

I finally went pro for DH and Super D!   But I'm continuing with my focus to become a better all around rider - I bought a rigid singlespeed last year, which has done wonders for my handling skills and climbing ability.   And I'm continuing my broad focus of racing in a variety of disciplines - from DH to Super D, to some local XC races on my singlespeed, and maybe a team endurance event as well.    For me, riding is about getting out there to challenge myself and have fun, and share my passion for the sport with others.

Bio

What inspires you to compete?

I love the challenge - overcoming fears, doing things I didn`t think I could do... Plus you meet such great people racing, and then you`re out there pushing and encouraging one another. I love it!

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

My schedule varies depending on the season, but I consistently do cardio, weight, and balance training - in addition to riding my bikes (road, mountain, DH) as much as I can!   I've also taken up long track speed skating (on ice) in winter, as it's an incredible leg and balance workout.

Employment / Experience Summary

After college, I was an Army officer for 6 years, where I worked with PATRIOT Missiles. It was exciting traveling and living overseas, and I loved the challenge. I then met my husband on a ski trip, we decided to move to Utah where we could enjoy the sports we love and I started a new career in Real Estate.
