Osiris Shoe Review
Hard to believe but Christmas is right around the corner. Companies have already started putting out their 2009 holiday catalogs and soon enough you'll be browsing through hundreds of product and checking websites making a list for Santa.
Osiris Shoes is one company that's already ahead of the curve and dropped their holiday lineup. Osiris has really been paying attention to their BMX program lately and with Kyle Carlson behind their media stuff, they seem to be on top of it. Unlike other shoe companies, I noticed Osiris really doesn't create signature models for their riders. This left me curious to know which models really pertained to BMX, if any. Not that they need to be BMX specific to be good for riding but let's face it, some are always better than others. Osiris sent over some of the latest models that the BMX team has been rocking lately. So, whether you're looking for some new kicks to pedal around in or just change up your style, check these out.
The South Bronx shoe is apart of the 2009 Holiday release. They are the most commonly worn pair by the Osiris BMX team and after checking them out, we see why. The South Bronx is a well padded type of mid-top with tons of support and protection. With some spicy color combinations and unique textures to choice from, it's no wonder why the team likes them for riding so much.
Offering a little less support in the ankle region than the South Bronx, the 45's are a little more adequate for chilling in than riding. But don't be mistaken, these bad boys have a nice flat sole, are super simple and can still get the job done. If you're a Chuck Taylor type of guy, you'll love these.
Lastly are the Shurikan's. These are my favorite out of the bunch, designed by a skater but perfect for BMX. These are another mid-top style design, similar to that of the South Bronx but with a little less padding. Stylishly, I think they take the cake out of the bunch and I could totally see Tony Neyer rocking all the unique styles this shoe comes in.
