Raced BMX for about a dozen years, earning numerous top 10 national titles and a trip to the 1997 UCI World Championships. Got a lot more into MTB over the last 4 years, after moving back to PA and finding some great guys to ride with. Got a bike that could handle my aggressive style of riding, and now I'm totally hooked again.
While I don't compete often, biking remains a huge part of my life, and I am a visible and active in many ways:
- at work: I organize rides with people at work, and promote my biking-related activities (like the Cancer Society Bike-a-thon and the Jump Jam benefit)
- in my neighborhood: I help kids with bike repairs, bike skills, organize rides, promote bike shops and events
- at my local trails: ride, ride, ride. Helping others progress their skills, doing trail work, etc.
- in my community: being an advocate for bike access, participating in skatepark fundraising and organization, promoting various bike-related events and activities
