How did you get started?
Jason dreamed of becoming a motorcycle racer since he was 4 years old. While attending the 2006 AMA Superbike Race at California Speedway, Jason spotted the SCminiGP booth with small road race motorcycles on display and took off running toward it. By the time his father caught up to him, Jason had decided that this was to be his future. He was able to convince his parents to sign him up for the SCminiGP Youth Program in October of that year.
Jason Aguilar started his racing career the first day he ever sat on a motorcycle, on October 21, 2006. After completing the SCminiGP Youth Program, the instructor told Jason he did well enough that he could go out and practice with the kids who were preparing for their race that same day. Starting dead last, Jason found himself falling about half a lap behind his nearest competitor after 2 laps. With a couple of laps under his belt, Jason started to pick up speed. Two laps later, he started passing riders, and ended up in the middle of the pack by the end of the practice. The instructor then informed Jason that he could even run the race that day. Jason finished 7th out of 13 riders that day. Leaving the track, Jason stated “This has been the best day of my life”.
Jason was able to convince his parents to get him his own mini motorcycle so he could start competing in the 2007 season. His next opportunity came at the 2007 SCminiGP Winter Test and Tune. Jason finished second, in spite of being the only competitor without years of riding experience. In 2007, he finished 1st in 4 races and 2nd in 5 races out of 9 races this year. Jason won the 2007 Blata Cup Championship with a 30 point lead. Moving up to the SCminiGP Semi-Pro Junior class, Jason secured the 2008 Championship with his win in the season finale at Buttonwillow Raceway Park.
Jason has now retired from pockebike racing to focus his racing effort on Shifters for 2009. Jason started riding shifters in Decmeber 2007. By the end of the 2008 Season, Jason had finished 2nd in the SCminiGP NSR Cup, 3rd in SCminiGP 50 Light, and won his last 2 races in Thumpstar GP ending the champion's 6 race undefeated streak.
Jason is now “living his dream”.

What are you planning for next season?
Next season, I will be focussing on my RS92 and trying to beat the 4strokes in ProGP and Pro Extreme. Hopefully, we can get a RS125 and move onto the big tracks.
What has been your biggest accomplishment?
Winning the 2008 SCminiGP Semi-Pro Junior Championship after winning the 2007 Blata Cup Championship.
