Labor day weekend!!! Well all is well and another race weekend has passed. Saturday was a 6 hour endurance race so my race club had to pack 2 days of racing into a single day, this required you to be on your toes listening for the horns and knowing exactly when you should be on the track. I ended up racing in the 750 supersport and 750 superbike and finish pretty much where I tought that I`d finish. The 750 supersport race didn`t go as I had planned.....my teammate and I didn`t hear the horn for the warm up lap and actually missed it and the start of the race. Aside from being a total squids, we entered the race track about when the pack was at middle track and there was no way that we were going to catch anyone so we decided to sit back and duke it out just the two of us. Turns out we both turned some respectable times and had a blast doing it. The 750 superbike was a different story.....we made the grid this time and actually raced other people than ourselves. Unfortunatly my teammate suffered a crash that may end his season, not because he`s injured but because he dosen`t have the cash flow to fix his bike by the last race weekend of the year. My self on the other hand finished 17th in 750 superbike and 15th in 750 supersport.

The past weekend was a blast....it was the first time my team and I have been to Spokane Raceway. The track is around a 2 1/2 miles long and features a monstorus straight-a-way mixed in with various swooping left and right handers and 1 crappy super sharp lefty (turn 6). But first thins first.... I`d like to give a big thanks to my teammate Josh for letting me use his ride while mine is being repaired from the last race weekend. So back to the track, my first impression of Spokane is that it looks pretty dangerous because there is practically no run off for crashing. This kind of made me think twice about pushing hard for the weekend along with the fact that I`m not riding my own bike and DID NOT want to crash it and have to fix it . So the game plan for the weekend was to just finish and not get caught up trying to race with the other riders. The race day started off on a down side, I never got a chance to give Josh`s bike the once over and took it straight to tech. Well there were several things wrong with the bike, it was missing saftey wire on the brakes, front wheel axel, oil drain plug, and rear axel clip, but the biggest problem was that a nut was missing from the swing arm axel!!! I ended up missing the first practice session trying to find someone in the pits that may have that nut for the swing arm. I was not having much luck because its not really something that you would bring to the track as a spare. After going through about 6 pits and 2 vendors I found someone that had the nut (big thanks to Todd Horn of HDFFC racing) and could finally pass tech. I was able to get in the second practice session of the day for novice and just putted around to get a feel for the track at the same time all I could think about was how much it would suck to dump my buddies bike and have to fix it. I made sure that I didn`t push at all because the tires on the bike were just about bald and were sliding at a pretty slow speed. Oh well just go out there and finish.......I ended up finishing the first race 10th out of 22 on Saturday. Sunday turn out to be soooo hot, I was afraid that these bald tires would end up super greasy...ah what ever I`ll just go out there and have fun and finish. "Well the tires didn`t have much traction" I thought to myself as the rear tire started sliding in T2, well I`m just going to have to go slower. It was kind of shitty watching a bunch of other riders go by me but fuk it......I wasn`t about to dump the bike because I felt like I shouldn`t be passed. I ended up finishing 12th. Regardless I had a great time and met more cool people in the pits and I`m looking forward to putting my bike back on the track!

Better late than never, well the race weekend started of right with me getting some good seat time at the AF track day on the Friday before the races. I was starting to build consistency and more confidence which I had lacked in the previous race weekend. I guess I really haven`t shaken off the rust from last season.
On Saturday (6/10) my team and I were struggling to get our pit set up because the track was also hosting a car shoot out and a lot of the car racers had stored their cars in the pits for use later that night......well long story short there were no pit spaces. Finally we were able to squeeze into a tiny spot next to another racer who didn`t show up for the Saturday race. With all that mess over with we were finally able to get our bikes and gear teched but like everyone else we were late to the tech lines which cause them to be kinda long. So we missed the first practice session, oh well this gave us enough time to properly set up and get our tire warmers on and give the bikes the once over.
For the first heat I was gridded in the second row and got a pretty terrible start (starts are not my strong point!) and ended up somewhere around 15-20 place. I made up ground fairly quick, by turn 2 I was somewhere in the top 10. The race went fairly good from there I was showing consistency from the day before and was able to pass about 3 riders and was creeping up on a few more. As the laps were winding down I started getting in to a groove and decided to push a little more to try and get in front of the 2 riders ahead of me. Well I was hoping to get a good drive thru turns 5, 6, and 7 and even up on turn 8 and try and pass on turn 9...I was a good plan too bad I didn`t make it out of turn 5. Some how I upset the chassis and had to stand the bike back up and drove it in the gravel run off, I almost had it out and was thinking well I just put it back on the track and finish this race till I hit a rather deep patch of gravel that suddenly stopped the bike and threw me forward. I ended up breaking my collar bone and was done for the weekend. The bike sustained some damage but hopefully it`s nothing that I can`t fix by the next race weekend. Hopeful my collar bone will also heal by then!

Unfortunately my racing club (WMRRA) could not come to an agreement with Spokane Raceway for this weekend’s upcoming event, so it was cancelled. Look for myself and Team Zeroprofile at the next race weekend on June 10th and 11th.
