The World Wakeboard Association (WWA) is the governing body for the sport of wakeboarding worldwide. Founded in 1989 by Jimmy Redmon, its purpose is to help introduce people to the sport of wakeboarding, provide consistent and fair standards by sanctioning and governing events worldwide. The WWA also serves to help educate the public on ways to have more fun and generally improve individual skills in wakeboarding. There are an estimated nearly 4.4 million people who participate in wakeboarding world-wide.
