Ladies to the Grid!
What inspires you to compete?
I've had to contend with some chronic & lengthy medical issues for the last few years. During that off-time, it made me aware that life is fragile. Each day unwritten, given the opportunity & choice to write whatever storyline we set out for ourselves. Although, I struggled for many years, from that point forward, I believed in myself & believed in fulfilling my passions.
Do you train? What does your schedule look like?
During my years in the military, I learned a lot about training. I was one of the 'few' female CH47D Flight Engineer's in US Army EUROPE. I've seen Sarejavo burning, and Tuzla demortalized by hatred that went centuries deep. Being in an unfamiliar territory, with familiar skills enabled me to understand helicopters & it's Theory of Operations in Combat conditions. (Basically, how to survive at all cost.) A time where every second counts; Every moment matters. Training at that level for many years brings great experience to roadracing. Many think of training as a burden; or something you start at the beginning of the year. It may be repetitious, and uneventful, but, You get what you put in. My mantra is this: Do something for your self, everyday that makes you one step closer to your goal. Reach, everyday. Even if you can only lean forward. Do something to reach your goal, everyday.
Why do you like this sport?
it is as close to being a pilot as I will ever be.
What has been your most embarrassing moment?
I 'almost' tossed a friend's DR650; around a decreasing radius turn on gravel in East TN. We had COMMO systems hooked up in our helmets, and after I navigated a partial high side, with my face buried close to the front tire, all I heard:
"Karen, Karen, Karen. We're gonna have to get you back to the barn and clean your pants after that one."
Employment / Experience Summary

yeah, i am heading to the dirt for the fall. and YES on coming up to the Smoky's. There are tons of roads here in great condition. The DRAGON is good, but so many Harley's and LEO clogging the line...it's not as fun (fluid) as it once was. So, we travel elsewhere and have found considerable better places to ride. Seriously, let's think about a weekend or even during the week. =]]]
Anti-freeze...awwwwwwwww.....( |

I think I'm done on the track for this year, so no I'm not going to Tally next weekend :-(..Rich and I put antifreeze in the racebikes and parked 'em for the winter. Stay in touch! Hopefully I can bring Skittles up there and ride the mountains with ya soon! |
