Q&A - Personal

What inspires you to compete?

As an Automotive Engineer, I am a motorsports fanatic. All racing types, all racing venues are all OK with me. Married for 30 years with two grown daughters. Before graduating college, I was a professional mechanic for nearly 15 years. I take pride in using my experience and skills to keep my racing program top notch. I also focus significant effort on keeping physically fit, a real plus when competing against other drivers that are usually much younger.

What inspires you to compete?

We race to win. To that end, our race team is inspired by racing all of our competitors with percision execution, fairness and dignity. At every race, our competition knows that; whether we end up first or last; car #68 will be a respected and formidable opponent.

Q&A - Competition

How did you get started?

I was always a motorsports fanatic and somewhat partial to road course racing. Around 1983, I was able to join the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). Initially, I started with Autocross, which gave me great experience with honing my car control skills. In 1986, I built my first race car, which won numerous Regional Championships over 10 years of development. Our current car began development in 1997 and has always been a front runner right out of the box.

List your competitive highlights:

SCCA Northwest Regional Champion - 1987 to 1990 SCCA Las Vegas Region Regional Champion - 1991 to 1992 SCCA San Diego Regional Champion - 1992 Numerous track records: CSCC, Vegas, San Diego regions 29 pole positions 14 fast laps

What are you planning for next season?

For 2010, we will focus on qualifying for the US Regional Championship series. This is a newly formed race series that will culminate with a final championship race, open to all Regional race competitors throughout the United States. The inaugural race will be held at Buttonwillow Raceway Park in October 2010. For any potential sponsors, our 2010 race season budget available on request.
