Pronghorn Racing made it's US debut at Interbike trade show 2008 in Las Vegas last week.
To say the reception was overwhelming is an understatement.

Dirt Demo days:
Saturday:
It was hot and started out a bit slow. By noon a few people had test ridden the Pronghorn. Then few more
and by 3 pm the day sort of died.
We thought the day went OK. little did we know that our new suspension design was the buzz around the demo.

Sunday:
Demo starts at 9am. We show up at 8am to set up and drink a cup of coffee. But to our surprise there is a line at our booth. People have heard that they MUST ride this bike so we are the first on there list.
This maham goes on all day with all bikes out all the time. When a bike did come in it was snapped up as fast as we could switch pedals, even if it was the wrong size for the rider.

Each returning rider commented on how surprised they were. The bike handled like a hard tail, best riding bike in the venue,Blown away, light and handles great, etc,

INSIDE THE TRADE SHOW
So out of the sun and into the Air Conditioned Convention halls we go.
Show opens at 9am but we of course are there at 7:30.
Well when we arrive there are Magazine editors waiting to take photos and find out what the Buzz is around this new design.
This went on for three days with magazines requesting test bikes, dealers requesting demo bikes and even designers and owners of competitors companies coming by to look, comment and even compliment.

Pronghorn racing is a new company from Denmark. Not very old but started and run by very enthusiastic cyclist/engineers who love cycling. For Pronghorn to achieve there goal of building a light weight, fast pedaling and simple cross country bike in such a short time is quit a compliment to the real people behind the company.

We are having a blast and are waiting to share this with you. Check out the Pronghorn.

                                                             SPONSORSHIP 101

Having your hard work, results and networked influence in a particular activity rewarded by some form of Sponsorship makes you feel GREAT!

After reading through hundreds of applications on Sponsorhouse.com here’s a few tips.

  • Know the product your applying for. Don’t just shotgun applications to sponsors. Use the companies name and product. A little effort here goes a long way.

  • Sponsors know what they can do for you. Tell them exactly how you will help them sell more products. Be specific; take ownership of this opportunity and think like it’s your money your spending. What would you really do for return on your investment?

  • Use proper English not slang.  “YO sponsor me” doesn’t work in the business world.

  • Profiles: If your profile is full of pictures of you doing “SICK” big air tricks with no helmet or safety gear of any kind.  What do you think a sponsor will do with it?  “Decline”

  • After you receive sponsorship keep the sponsor updated so they can showcase your efforts.  Send video, current results.  Tell them how their product helped you.  Get your local shop to carry the product if they don’t already. Help the sponsor justify $$ sponsoring you.

As you are well aware, it costs you $$ to compete. It cost’s us $$ to stay in business and sponsor athletes.

Lets meet in the middle and help each other and have fun doing it.

See ya at the races
