Well it the dr has confirmed it and the MRI backed it up. I have torn the rotator cuff in my shoulder. I have a follow up appointment on the 17th of July. After that surgery. Maybe I will be ready for cross season. We will see. The good thing about this is that both of my sons are racing BMX and winning trophies. That is how I hurt myself. (showing them how to do it) I will keep the up dates coming.

Well the Bike Lane 3man sport team was off th a great start until the 4th lap. For some reason the lap time increased. We went from 2nd to 5th in 1 lap. Bike lan finished with 8 laps and the winners finished with 11. Thunder storms and heavy rain for the last 3 hours of the race. I had a tooth knocked out and had to call it quits. Well we hope to have better results at the 12 hours of cranky monkey in June.

Just getting all my gear ready for this weekend. Lodi is my first 12 hour event. Quantico will be next. Look for the update on Sunday.

Well it's 12/30/2008. This was a pretty good year for me. My son is doing great in his battle against cancer, and I did what I set out to do in my racing. Thursday I'm taking the kids to see Mickey and Mini in Florida. Then it is back to training. I just put the finiching touches on the Yeti ARC (added a Magura DURIN Race) The bike is light fast and climbs like a dream. My goals for 2009 are pretty much the same as last year. Race as much as I can, Qualify for the nationals and finish in the top 5 of all the crankey monkey and Wednsday Night Wakefield races. (I hope everyone saw the article about Wakefield in the IMBA news letter)

Well good luck to everyone in 09. Be safe ride fast and have fun. I'm off to ride on the trainer for the next hour.

Hey all just got back from Nationals. Well I did what I  set out to do. I qualified and finished in the top 10. (The guy who finished last in my class DNF so that put me at 9th place). My lap time was about 15 minutes off  the pace. There was a guy who finished in like 37 minutes. That is fast for my class.

The whole experience was great. I got to meet a lot of cool people talk to all the pros and got some really great pictures of Myself and mount snow. They will be posted soon. I have 3 races left in my season but I'm thinking bagging them. I started working with a coach (Melissa Dalio) and have my Vo2 Max test scheduled for Tuesday. I will dicuss my nutrion and training plans with her. Then I guess we'll decide on the remaining 3 races.

I will keep everyone posted on what is going on.

Robert

Well Today is Sunday and I leave for Vermont on Wednesday. Trained as much as I could with having a really crazy month of June. Just started working with Melissa Dalio. She is an Endurance coach in Fairfax,VA. We put together a plan for nutrion at nationals and scheduled a VO2 Max test for July 21st. Should learn from that for training next year.

Well I will fill you all in on the results from nat's. My race is Friday at 3pm. Wish me luck.

Well This was not the results that I was looking for. I got to NJ the day before the race for a pre-ride. Went over the course and it was your basic NJ pineland single trac. I had a problem with the chain on the practice run and had to pull it out from between the cog and spokes. Later that night I thought i fixed the chain thing but 4 minutes into the race on Saturday the same thing happened.

I felt really good for those firtst 4 minutes and planned to just settle in riding in the to 10 until the last few miles of lap 2. Well I'm back in VA and doing alot of training for the nationals in Vermont. I will have 2 Wakefield local races before I have to hit the road for the long drive Northeast. I'll be talking to ya.

Bob

Well I'm not too happy with the last race. I had very poor nutrion and training going into this race. I have to step it up big time in my training and nutrion plan. I am fortunate that I did take 2nd in the MD State Championship.  I also qualified for the Nationals this year in Vermont.

Well gotta go I'll keep everyone posted on the training and racing.

Hey everyone. Just a little note to let everyone know how Sundays race went. I finished 4th over all in the beginners class. Didn't have that great of a race. I got a little winded on the first  1700 foot climb and fell behind by 2 minutes. The good thing is that I only stayed down by 2 minutes. The weather was cold and rainy all day. About 42 degrees. Part of the race was on a fire road that was worked on the week before the race. I did a pre-ride last weekend and the road was packed and fast. This weekend it was really stick and soft. Didn't help the times at all.

Well I guess it's back to training for the next 3 weeks. We have the Greenbrier MD State Championships coming up on 4/26/08. I will keep you all up to speed on the traing progress.

Be safe
