What inspires you to compete?
To know that I am able to do something that so many others can't is a great feeling, and the fact that others look up to me for my help. I coach some of the Junior riders that race for me to help them improve there riding skills.
Why do you compete?
I grew up playing Provincial and National level soccer as a Goalkeeper and when I finally stopped i wanted to find something that was more intense to take on. I used to work with a kid that always trashed talked others about how fast he was and challenged me to a race down the local mountain, needless to say I got hooked from there.
Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?
Travelling to events and for riding has deffinetly strengthened my skills and helped me improve both on and off the bike. Best trip by far has to be going down to the US OPEN this year (May 2009) with some of my teammates and getting really hammered barbequing with the Santacruz Syndicate boys and and having a cereal fight with each other. Our condo looked like a cereal box mixed with BBQ sauce the next day.
Why do you like this sport?
Super intense, its been the greatest time ever riding. I have made the best friends ever from it and everyone is super chill.
Music?
Love riding to Rise Against and even Brittney Spears. They have the best flow when it comes to riding trails and dirt jumps.
