Overview How I got started2005 Super Gas ? #3 point holder and 2005 Street ET - #21 points holder
-2006 SEASON- I ended the year sitting in the number 9th spot racing my 2005 bike, that wasn't competitive in the class. I never gave up.
10/28-29/2006 Texas Mile - The Texas Mile is a top speed race. You get one mile to run as fast as you can. I finally got to race my new bike, I've been working on all year. The first pass I found out that I need to change the gearing. I was over powering the tire, all the way through the mile run. I chained the gearing, and went for it again. Same result. It took a few gearing changes to find the right gearing.
Sunday roled around, I had the gearing I needed. I made a easy pass running 191mph. It felt good, so I went for it again, and ran 196mph, and I was still spinning the tire. The tire I had was getting to hot and gummy. That was the only tire I had. One the way back to teh pits, there was a accident that hurt teh bike, so the day was done. The next Texas Mile is in March 2007.

2005 Texas Shootout Motorcycle Drag Racing Series
March19th: I had my first race of the season Saturday for the Texas Shootout Motorcycle Drag Racing Series.
I ran the two classes Super Gas and Street ET. Super Gas is a 9.90 index class, the first one the finish line without running faster than 9.90 is the winner. I qualified number four in the class and then went into eliminations. I ended up against the no. 1 qualifier. I ended up running to quick so I broke out of the 9.90 index. I ran a 9.80 at 143mph. In Street ET I won the first round, then I won the second round, we were just getting ready to run the third round when the sky feel.
Our next Shootout race is the April 24th, and we are going to finish the March 19th race, the next day April 24th. It`s going to be a long weekend.
April 23rd: I did run my fastest time Saturday. I ran a 9.63 at 145mph in the quarter mile, and I also had my best 60ft of 1.588 in the quarter mile.
I have a race this weekend, Midnight Madness race this Saturday at the San Antonio Raceway in Texas. You race from 9:00 to 12:00 am, then the fastest four bikes are taken out and race to the end, for the big winner. The winner than comes back next month to defend his or her spot.
2005 San Antonio Raceway ? Street Riders Shootout:
I made it to the final round in the Street Riders Shootout in the 60in class. I usually don?t race the 60in. class. I just wanted to try the class. Going to the finals was a big surprise my first time in the class.
2005 Texas Shootout Motorcycle Drag Racing Series:
July 2nd: I qualified number one in Super Gas. There was bonus money for the #1 qualifying spot. The race got rained out. But I made it to the finals. The final round will be run Sept. 10th at the Houston Raceway Park.
2004 Texas Shootout Motorcycle Drag Racing Series
February 28 - San Antonio Raceway: Saturday Night was the "Midnight Madness" Street race at San Antonio Raceway in Seguin. Joey L. Willhite is the Motorcycle Warrior of the Month!
I won the motorcycle Warrior class. I had the fastest bike there all night long. The last race I lined up against a Suzuki, Hayabusa 1300. The guy told me he was shooting 50hps of NOS. I told him cool, you?re going to need it. I`ll jump you off the line and drag you the whole quarter mile. That is what I did! I`m the first winner of this event. Saturday was the first time the race was held. They also have a website with the picture, it`s not that big at all, but I`m happy. I have to go back next month to defend my title.
I started to run a new class this year.
Super Gas is anything from your big bore, modified street bikes, to your heavy modified V-twin Harley Davidson. Super Gas is a qualified field, based on a standard of 9.90 in the quarter mile. Standard safety requirements are the only class rules.
I also still race the Street ET Class.
Reserved for street legal motorcycles and handicapped from a dial in chosen by each competitor, this is for the beginning racer. This eliminator is run tournament style with a "zero" second breakout. Standard safety is a requirement. The class prohibits wheelie bars, slicks and delay boxes. D.O.T. street tires required.
March 20th, 2004 - Houston Raceway Park: The first race of the season was March 29-30 of the Texas Shootout Motorcycle Drag Race Series. I race in the Street ET (Elapsed Time) class, which requires a dial-in number. I also started a new class, Super Gas (9.90 index).
April 24th 2004 - Ben Bruce-Evadale, TX: The race was rained out! And never Re-scheduled.
May 29th 2004 - Houston Raceway Park: I qualified in the number nine spot, out of sixteen in Super Gas. I went out in round one, because my air shifter didn`t shift. I had the number one qualifier half-track until the miss-shift. Street Et, I limped through to the third round. I ended up having a bad electronic kill box. It has since been replaced and working perfect.
July 24th 2004 - San Antonio Raceway: I qualified number five in Super Gas for the fourth race in the season. I broke out in the seconded round with a 9.80 on a 9.90 dial in. Street ET, I went to the third round and broke out with a 9.76 on a 9.80 dial-in.
August 28th 2004 - Ben Bruce-Evadale, TX: I qualified number two in Super Gas for the fifth race in the season.
I ended up, getting put out in the first round because of the pillow at the light. (I sleeped at the light) Street ET, I made it to the third round, when a big wheelie of the line caused me to not the guy once I got the bike down.
October 16th 2004 - Houston Raceway Park: I qualified number four in Super Gas for the last race of the season. I went out in the first round against Brandon Pellichino. I just couldn?t back off the gas. I broke out with a 9.68 at 142mph.
I went to the third round of Street ET. I blew and air shifter line when I hot second gear.
The season was a good one for me. I ended up #6 in points in Super Gas and Number #25 in Street ET. I didn?t try as hard this year with Street ET, because I wanted to perform well in Super Gas.
2003 Texas Shootout Motorcycle Drag Racing Series
March 29-30 - Houston Raceway Park:
The first race of the season was March 29-30 of the Texas Shootout Motorcycle Drag Race Series. I race in the Street ET (Elapsed Time) class which requires a dial in number for every race, There were 100 bikes entered in the Street ET class that day.
I made my way to the third round; I got beat by .20, by a ZX12. I can`t complain, my little 750 was running 10.53 - 10.60 passes all day long. I have been working on my riding to have better times this year. I have my goal set for 9.99 at 145-150 mph in the quarter mile on a 750
April 26 - Houston Raceway Park:
The second race of the season was April 26th of the Texas Shootout Motorcycle Drag Race Series
I race in the Street ET (Elapsed Time) class which requires a dial in number for every race, There one hundred bikes entered in the Street ET class that day.
I fought my way to the fifth round, the final eight bikes. I dialed in a 10.40, and ran 10.35 at 137mph, I lost the fifth round because I ran faster that my dial in. I did not
care if I lost the race, because I ran my best time of 10.35 at 137mph, on a 750cc bike and the bike was spinning the tire past the 60ft mark. So I would have ran faster if I didn`t spin the tire. My best time from last year was a 10.53 at 130 mph. I have my goal set to run a 9.99 Elapsed Time at 145-150 mph, by the
end of the season October 11-12
June 14 - Houston Raceway Park:
The June 14th Texas Shootout drag race started out a hit. I won the first round, I won the second round and they called for the third round and the sky feel out. The race was rained out. The race will be finished the morning of July 26th and a new race will start the same afternoon.
July 26 - Houston Raceway Park:
The point standings show me in 21st place after the July 26th race. I moved from 45th to 21st in the point standings. There are 129 riders in the
Street E.T. class, the class I race in. The July race I made it to the fourth round out of six. I lost in the fourth round race. I still received points for the rounds I had won before the fourth round. I have two more races this year, September 6th and a two-day race October 11th and 12th.
September 6 - Houston Raceway Park:
September 6th race, I made it to the third round, I dialed a 10.45 and ran a 10.42 and broke out of my dial in. Which means I lost the race because I ran to fast on my dial in. This year the third round has been biting me. I also tried a new fuel this race (Ultimate 4) the bike was running a lot different than I was use to. The fuel really added more horsepower, the throttle was a lot touchier of the line, I kept wheeling off the line, and you don`t win races on one wheel in a drag race.
October 11-12 - Houston Raceway Park:
The last race of the season was October 11-12th of the Texas Shootout Motorcycle Drag Race Series. I race in the Street ET (Elapsed Time) class which requires a dial in number for every race, There were 129 bikes entered in the Street ET class that day. I ended up 26th over all in points out of 129 bikes.
I made my way to the third round; I got beat by .35, by a 1300 Hayabusa. I can`t complain, my little 750 was running 10.23 - 10.28 passes all day long. I made a lot of improvements in my riding and times this year. I started this year with my fastest time being a 10.53. My fastest time now is a 10.23. I have come along way shaving that much time of my quarter mile times. I didn`t reach my goal of 9.99 at 145-150 mph in the quarter mile on a 750, but I gave it my all. I also gave all the big bikes, I run against, a run they had to work for. I could hole shot the big bikes; they would have to run all out to try to catch me.
I couldn`t have done as well as I have this year with out my loving wife (Pit Crew) Cynthia. She takes care of me, and helps with any problem.
I`m put a 1000 motor in the 750 chassis for next years season. If I can run with the bigger bikes on a 750, I believe I will be a lot higher in points with the bigger motor.
2002 Texas Shootout Motorcycle Drag Racing Series
March 23 - Houston Raceway Park:
I made my way to the third round.
April 20 - Houston Raceway Park:
I made my way to the fourth round.

I made my way to the third round.
July 27 - Houston Raceway Park:
I made my way to the fourth round.
September 6 - Houston Raceway Park:
I made my way to the third round.
October 26 Houston Raceway Park:
The race was a rain out; the points were counted with the top five races. The 2002 season was my rookie year. I ended up 60th over all. I was happy I made all the races, but I wasn?t happy with my points. I have a lot to learn, and next year will be a better year. My goal for the 2003 season, sharpen my riding skills and become more competitive.
2001 Texas Shootout Motorcycle Drag Racing Series
October 19 - Houston Raceway Park:
