Q&A - Competition

How did you get started?

I took a trip with some friends to Marquette MI with the intention to just freeride while I was there. I decided at the last minute to enter the race and took 5th place out of 100 + racers. I was stoked and wanted more.

List your competitive highlights:

1st place at snowshoe WV. 2nd Place at Boyne Mtn. 4th Place at Marquette Mtn Superior Bike Fest.

What are you planning for next season?

U.S. Open at Diablo freeride park. Diablo domination series , Plattekill Mountain, Snowshoe. Anything else I can fit into my schedule.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

1st Place in 2007 at Snowshoe #1 in WV.

Q&A - Personal

Why do you like this sport?

I love dirt. I like to fly, and I love the adrenaline rush of going fast through trees and over rocks to the point of losing control but holding back just enough to make it down the hill in one piece.

Describe your style...

Charge hard and fast at every possible moment. Push to the point of total exhaustion and then push some more. Keep trying to flow better each time.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I workout 5 days a week, run, and ride a lot of cross country. I eat clean and train hard.

Why do you compete?

Racing for me is just good fun, I also really like to push myself and try to go faster then everyone else. I guess in a way racing is like a drug, but the good kind, yes it will cost you money, and it could even kill you, but its legal and a lot more fun.

Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?

I love to travel and its a must for me to get to the races, I drive 9-14 hours each month sometimes twice a month to get to races. My most eventful road trip story must be driving to Plattekill with my friend Adam Raphael. At first it was horrible cause I got sick on the way, horribly sick, and spent most of the trip sleeping in the back seat. My race run was bad, I hit a tree and then washed out in a corner, but I still did'nt get last. It was also my first Pro race. On the way back home though, we stopped at Niagra Canada and had a really great time but ended up staying way too late causing me to be late for work the next day. Good times.
