I can feel it already... this season is going to be awesome!

Besides being on the Evomo Factory Team this season, I picked up a brand new sponsor to me that I am really thrilled about! MAGURA! I've been using Magura brakes on my trials bike since I started riding and would never use anything else!

I was also able to renew my sponsorship through SIXSIXONE which I was really great because I love their products. I don't use anything but SIXSIXONE gloves when I compete on my trials bike and also race XC. They are comfortable and hold up to just about anything you throw at them.

11th at New Jersey State Championship XC Race

Just got back from the New Jersey State Championship XC Race called - Campmor H2H Race #5, USA Cycling AMBC, The 13th Annual Bulldog Rump.

The event was held in Andover New Jersey at Kittatiny Valley State Park.

My results - 11th out of 25 riders.

Distance - 11 miles
Time - 1 hr 4 mins.

This was the first race that I felt like I was going to throw up almost the entire race. The event flier said the course was 10 miles long, but I logged 11.5 when I crossed the finish line. It was a tough race. I had some mechanical problems with my chain slipping gears and my chain falling off 3 times. Hopefully I can get that dialed in and be ready to go for the next race.

I felt pretty good when I found out that I finished mere seconds behind last years New Jersey State Champion.

4th place at Maryland trials bike comp!

Since my results section is not working for some reason, I figured that I would post my results for my comps here for now.

This past weekend on Sat Feb 23, 2008 I placed 4th at the Avalon Cycle Indoor trials bike competition in Elkridge Maryland. We all had a blast and it was great to ride with some old friends and make some new ones. Looking forward to an exciting season of competitions!

2007 North American Trials Series

I placed 2nd in sport class in the country for the 2007 North American Trials Series.

It's been a really fun year. I am looking forward to traveling even more next season and possibly moving up to expert class. I will also be trying my hand at XC racing next season as well.

Lastest interest in XC racing

I've become very interested in XC racing lately and I am now looking into purchasing a XC rig. At the moment I am looking at a '08 Rocky Mountain Element. From what I am told, they will be available around Sept 20th.

My plan is to eventually start racing XC in addition to my trials bike competitions... basically for cross training. I like the fact that there are so many more XC races to choose from. Trials bike comps are generally spread out all over the country and you normally have to wait weeks or even months in between each comp.

Belle Isle trials comp

This past weekend was the Belle Isle trials bike comp located in Richmond Virginia. The weather was real hot, but it was still a great event. The sport class had a nice turnout and I ended up with a 6th place finish.

I am now preparing for the next competition that will be held in Rocky Mount NC on September 1st. Can't wait!!

Raccoon Rally

The weather was great for the Raccoon Rally this year. I felt very comfortable and relaxed for this competition and it showed in my scores. There were 4 sections and we rode three loops. I was able to clean (To get through a section without putting your foot down) 8 times, with a total score of 7.

I placed 6th overall.

Trials Scoring -

For those of you that might not know the scoring system... "0" is the best you can get and 60 is the worst. Each time you put your foot down it is called a dab which results in 1 point. If you put both feet down it is a 5. A "5" is the worst you can do in a section.

24hrs of Big Bear lake results

Just got back late last night from a fantastic competition at The 24hrs of Big Bear Lake in West Virginia. It was a gorgeous day and my final result was 3rd place in sport class! I posted some pictures and should be uploading more soon.

After the trials competition was over we all had fun putting on a little show for the crowd with a mini bunny hop competition with a $50 prize for the highest hop. Although I didn't win that, my highest hop over the bar was 30 inches high from a stand still.

Well to start off, I'm really pumped to say that I am sponsored by Evomo. shop.evomo.com These guys are really cool and have some of the sickest clothing designs that I have ever seen. I also just got my order in for the Evomo team jersey and can't wait to wear that at my next comp.

Today I was able to get 4 hours of practice time in preparation for my upcoming comp in West Virginia. The comp will be held at Big Bear lake on June 9th 2007.

I've been doing extremely well with my diet and workouts and I have managed to lose lose almost 20lbs! Brings my weight from 215lbs to 196lbs! Not bad for this old man! LOL
