Goals for 2010 and beyond are to keep improving my skills, fitness and speed, while attending as many local Alberta races I can. As well as attend all of the Women's Pro National rounds with a finish in the top 10; Race a women's race in Washougal; and race the International Vet race in Glen Helen. I would also like to spend a month in California to train at some point during the winter.

The year started with a dislocated ankle, which landed a severly bruised hip and foot peg into the same injured ankle. Leading to a fracture hip and then a chipped hip which all ended the season with pnemonia. Now Novembers verdicte of the specialist on both the hip and snkle will determine where I go for the winter months.
To say the least this season sure didnt meet all my expectations or meet any goals, but I made it out lucky really as I should make a fulll recoveries from the injuries. So actually after realizing how the accidents happened and time will be what heals the wonds, brakes, strains and teirs, there is only on thing to do, Look forward to next season for a more productive one, with some actual racing and with little injury.
So thank you to all of my sponsors for haning in there for a rough year.

After being landed on during a race Stephen has lost his battle to recover form his injuries. Best wishes go out to his family in this difficult time. RIP Stephen Glenn Tollestrup III born Sept 18 1990- Died Sept 18 2009 on his 19th Birthday.

Still on the mend and its just over half way there. Mid November I get checked out by a specialist to see if surgery will be happening or not. In the mean time I have been cleared to ride with out doing jumps, whoops or hard impacts, so flats and turns but how many tracks are like that..lol. So I do go out to the local track and ride slower practicing technic and trying to improve my corners and occationally get excited and do a few jumps and then pay for it in pain later, Looking forward to next season more polished and ready to twist the throttle.

Wow this really is the slowest healing process I have ever had but then I was told November and it is only Selptmeber. The good news is that I am able to get on the bike and ride ever so slowly, limiting on jumps and turns, but its still riding and Im glad for that. I can just work on proper riding positions that I can manage with my hip and ankle. Some angles are quit unplesent still. All in all just happy to get some time on the bike even if Im not cleared to race it.

Ahhhh, Im at the point where I could likely get back on a bike and try and see if I could make a go at the Vet National on Aug 8th and what happens, Rain for the week and the parks closed to riding. Ahhhh

Now do I just chance it and go to the race even thou I havent rode for almost 2 months?!?! What to do? My hip is feeling better for the most parts even thou I was told it would be November for it to be fully recovered and my ankle has some issues still with swelling and pain but its the easy enough to wrap and tough out.

Anyways that is where I am at for now. Maybe best to call it a season to fully heal up for next year, but then again thats never been my style, so Ill see on the 8th.

Slow recovery

Well it has turned into slow recovery and have finally been cleared to start doing some lite workouts that wont strain my hip.or ankle. I am still hoping to be recovered enough to ride in the fall but I sure wont be in shape for it. at this rate, but will be for next year.

Calgary National

Well after not riding all week and only really walking almost normal by Wednesday, riding for the weekend seemed like a possable idea. Funny how fast you lose your stamina and strenght when your not able to do much due to injury. So with my bruised hip bone still hurting greatly along with the injured ankle, which made left turns a challenge all on there own, I lined up to race. If all I got out of the race day was the experience of slow riding I got that for sure as I felt like a snail and couldnt take the impact of landing jumps or hiting any of the bumps on the track with out very sharp pains, so all I could do to make it the whole race was to roll absolutly everything and pulling over when the girls came around to lap. Kind of sucked in a lot of ways but experience is experience even if its not pain free or as fast as I could go, there is hope for next year and the next race.
As for now it is time to heal!

Wow what can I say about Kamloops but loved it and want to go back and ride it when I have two good ankles to ride on.
I think the track was really fun to ride on both the amature day and the national day. Being the sandiest track I have ever ridden, I liked how the track was maintained and groomed only one spot I kind of questioned for design and it did get a bit dusty causing a crash on the Amature day third last race.
I learned a lot and am excited to get back out and do another race in Kamloops.
Next on the weekend is Calgary National.

National day 23rd first moto second moto best lap was 23rd but crashed in the 3rd last lap and DNF and got a trip to the hospital. Finished 30th overall

Well, even thou Im still not able to ride or race, I was out at the races supporting my sponsors and my fellow competitors. What a beautiful weekend finally too. I still hobble around after the ankle dislocation of last weekend as can be called the worst sprain ever before actually breaking the bones. Im getting better at walking day by day and still have hopes of racing next weekend even if that is a figment of my imagination. I am working hard at physio to make it a reality. New boots are required as well before I get back at it too. With hope of getting out for a practice this week, even if its just one day of hard riding but will have to see.

Shortest race ever

This has to have been the shortest race ever with the dumbest injury ever.

Less then half a lap and injured, dislocated ankle. Part of the sport for sure but what a crap shoot, so there goes the spring series SOAB races and I was in third over all, crappy, but what ever. Now the question is will I be able to ride in three weeks for the first national race. At the moment I cant get a sock on let alone a boot with an ankle which is doing a tenis ball imitation. I definatly know why I ride motocross as sunday TV is a nightmare of infomercials, aahhhh, iceing and elatating really isnt all that exciting either.

Consistent if anything else

Well Im cosistent if nothing else in my results, finishing 10th overall in the MX1 beginner class and 5th in the ladies class.

Brooks track prep was awsome, with some new improved obsticals. One was the improved rhythm section, which I almost got the hang of, but the talk of the track was the intimidation 45ft double. It had intimidation written all over it but it was easy enough to do. My concern really wasnt the jump but the right hander right after it. Also lots of people where not jumping it so that was a hassard as well. Still all and all Im happy to have walked away from this one with more then expected accidence happening and not even on that double.

Another race weekend

Well another race weekend has passed and even thou Im not so happy about my results I can't really complain, but I will anyways, just kidding, With not being completely use to the 450 I decided to stop goign back and forth from the 250 to the 450 for a few weeks to get the hang of it.

Saturday was the local race day and for a change I ran in the gp proam, which didnt make a few people happy to say the least and even more so when I finished the race while others didn't. I think the big problem is that my blue and white numbers stand out more then the other two guy's that arent pro either. Its the only long local race and I dont know what else to do to get the track time, but next week Ill either not attend these races or try and find to classes that run back to back which would only give me 16 minutes of track time not 30. I know go in three classes and If I could afford the third race I would. Ill think about that one for a few more days.

Sunday Was the SOAB race in Medicine Hat. The first MX1 beginner race I did pretty good in 9th, for me thats pretty good. The best part of that race was that there where no more gates and I just lined up behind one of the guy's hoping he was fast, well he was fast(he ended up winning the race), but him and the five guy's around him moved over to fit me in the line up, which was really cool, I couldnt believe it either that they did that it was a tight fit but we all left the line safely. The most welcoming feeling at the line Ive ever had.
The second moto I didnt fair so well off the line nor did the guy to the left of me with the guy on the right of me getting off the line out of control, leaving the two of use last around the corner. All and all I managed to pass more people then I thought ending in 14th giving me a 12th place over all for the day. I was so hoping for that top ten finish but there are a few more races to go.

I have lost my mind??

Well the first race of the season is over and boy the nerves got to me or maybe it was more because I ended up riding the 450 in both classes instead of just the one as I had intended.

I had done a practice on both the 250 and the 450 and the 250 was way off in the suspension, I had loaned the bike out and the fork seals had let go so with new fork seals in it and possibly different amount of oil it just wasnt set up at all. So after the practice I decided that I would ride the 450 in both classes, even thou I cant start the bike without someone holding it or a stand. Fear of falling or stalling out was a big one, but I know with the uneven ground that I could push the bike to a spot to get it started if I had too. I had a few people ready at the line to help me out getting it started for the first motos but didnt last all day, so will have to figuare out a way to start the thing at the line on my own.

All in all, when it was all done, the 450 was a handful for the Ladies class but I had a blast in the MX1 Beginner class with 30 men on the line I ended 12th not bad I thought for the first race of the season.

First Race Coming

First race is apon me this coming weekend and with some fear as I have had the flu for the last week and a 1/2, so not feeling it. All in all I'm going and going to give it my all and hopfully be back on track for the second race. The competition will be fearce this year and I have a lot of things stacking up against me and finances like everyone are getting the better of me. I will do the best I can.
