I raced in the 50cc (7-9) and the 50/65cc open class. My first motto (7-9) I got the holeshot and only had Nic to worry about until the second lap which Nic fell and I was able to get a nice lead and took first. In the open motto I got the holeshot but the 65cc rider was on my butt through the second corner but then I was able to take off and win with a 1/4 lap lead in front of the 65cc rider. My bike was making some awful noises and even though I got the win it wasnt running right, so Dad rebuilt the clutch hoping that was some of the problem. It wasnt. In my next motto (7-9) I had a bad start and was fifth or sixth. I worked my way up and in the second lap I took first and was able to hold it to the finish. I only had one motto left and was hoping the bike would last. I didnt get the holeshot again but was able to take the lead in the first lap but it was short lived because in the second lap my bike died. My brother ran back to the trailer and got my other bike but by the time I got back on the track I was in fifth place and was unable to catch up and in trying to do so I lost my exhaust. Dad took it to the shop Sat. morning hoping to get a quick fix before the race that day. He was gone 4 1/2 hours and after a changed carb, jets, coil and stater the bike still isnt running right and the KTM mechanic was stumped. So the bike stayed and Im off to the races with my old bikes that arent up to par.http://www.loopd.com/members/RowdyLanier/blog.aspx?resourceId=012d87a2-b6b6-4387-8ee9-bd640a5a14f3Sun, 02 Dec 2007 07:07:24 GMTNew BikeI got a new bike, it's a 2008 50SX. I'm so excited, I cant seem to stay off of it. I'm just breaking it in now because I have a race this weekend. I hope that I can handle it as well as my other two bikes. I still need graphics and new handle bars, grips, tires and things but that can wait. Hopefully I will be able to report back with four 1st place motos.http://www.loopd.com/members/RowdyLanier/blog.aspx?resourceId=376b7590-50f5-4385-833c-121576fd26eaTue, 27 Nov 2007 08:00:01 GMT11-10-07 RaceI had a great race night. I raced in the 50cc 7-9 and 50cc/65cc open classes. In both my 7-9 mottos I had no problems taking lead and staying ahead. In the open class I dominated the race running a 1:22 lap time on a mile track. In my first open motto, second lap I lost the end of my muffler but it didnt effect the bike any. I had a pretty descent start and thought the night would be great but my bike just doesnt seem to be what it was. In the 50cc 7-9 class I finished both mottos in 1st place but a few times It got a little iffy (Nic was on my butt!). In the 50/65cc open I started off great, I finished the first motto in 1st place with a few bike links to spare but in my second motto last lap I lost my chain and by the time I got back on track I was in 5th place. I was able to pass and finish with a 2nd place. I had an awful day. It started off with my dad rebuilding my top end on my race bike right before we left for the race. Everything seemed to be running fine with the bike at home. At the track before I even had a first practice the bike was bogging so I went out on my practice bike and had a fall. After I got back to the trailer I relized I broke my helmet and the valve stem. Luckily dad worked fast and got my race bike working properly (so we thought) for the races. In my first motto 7-9 class I struggled to stay ahead, the bike just wasnt right. During my third motto the bike came to a complete stop, now the coil burned out. What could happen next. I finished my last motto on my practice bike, the one with a flat tire. Considering the tire was just spinning on the rim and I wasnt getting much traction Im happy with the second place finish. I now have two second place finishes in the 50cc class and both are because of bike problems. Now I know why some racers have four and five bikes.http://www.loopd.com/members/RowdyLanier/blog.aspx?resourceId=78ad8b78-0ef3-4cc0-b26e-6f788c3536deSun, 28 Oct 2007 08:08:00 GMT10-20-07 RaceI had a great weekend.
