My 5 seconds on NPR

I was recently interviewed as a logo designer and rebranding expert for the public radio show Marketplace (aired on NPR). I did my best to refrain from criticizing anyones work, ie. XEROX’s new logo. When reporter Jennifer Collins arrived she took no time getting her equipment up and running. She had a microphone the size of a bazooka. I have never been interviewed before and thankfully I was able to kept my foot out of my mouth (another first). Our original interview took about an hour. Here are my official first 5 seconds of fame. (I now have 14 minutes and 55 seconds to go!)

Tradeshow Booth - Kelly Slater’s Komunity

This is the premier of Komunity Project at the Action Sports Retailer (ASR) and Surf Expo trade shows. The Hawaiian garage-themed booth was designed in-house by the M&D Group at Quick and they did a killer job bringing the Komunity team’s vision to life. The build out was done by The Exhibit Shop.

New Nixon Watches Catalog

Here’s the catalog we collaborated on with Nixon and their crew this past fall. Nixon, if you don’t already know, is a men’s and women’s action sports lifestyle accessories brand and borders on the mainstream luxury goods markets. Unlike most brands that expand their tentacles towards mainstream consumers Nixon remains the coolest watch on the scene and committed to the core customer. We’re so stoked. It’s not every day you get to work with such tight products, table top photography, athlete portraits and materials. BXC helped with layout, redesigned grids and were the heavy wrists for final pre-press production on both US and Euro versions. The catalog was printed beautifully at D.M. Steele in Fullerton, Ca. I’ll add more credit as they come in. Thanks E!
