Rocke out of Ponca City and Loretta Lynn's

After working hard all spring to get ready for the NMA Ponca City Nationals and AMA Loretta Lynn's national championships Rocke would get in a first turn pile up in his second moto out tearing ligiments in his ankle. While his injury will heal soon enoungh he could not shift his motorcycle and thus had to withdraw.

2007 year in review

Thank you to all my sponsors for 2007. I had a pretty good year highlighted with a 7th at Ponca City and a 3rd at Branson. I also won a track Championship in the schoolboy class at Podium 1 in Indiana.

Loretta Lynn's and the mini os didn't go as well but I learned a lot and hope to take what I learned and be ready for the 2008 season.

I am taking a small break from riding though I will be doing a lot of offseason training and some snowboarding to keep fit.

I really can't thank my sponsors and family enough for a fun season and look forward to 2008

I had and up and down weekend in Louisville but finally put it together to win the schoolboy class. I like arena cross but it sure can be tough. I got put on my ear in the B class and I hope my buddies Cameron Reas and Anthony Walker heal up quick they both got injured there.

I have been training hard running track for my high school and taking some trips down south to prepare for the 2007 racing season which I am looking forward to. I am happy to say most of my sponsors are back on board for this season and I appreciate the support. I will report back on the final list. Thanks again for every ones support

2006 Year in review

2006 was a pretty exciting year for me. I got way to big for mini's so opted to move up to the big bikes on a 250f. I am only 14 and though I took my lumps in the B class I holeshot some regionals, won some races, qualified for Loretta Lynn's and scored a top 10 at Branson. I also had some top 5 races at Ponca City my first time there until a wreck on the start put me in the hospital with a concussion which put me out of Loretta Lynn's.

I also got to spend some time at MTF training facility with Connie Milsaps who taught me alot and got to work a Randall and Kevin at ProWorks they had my bikes ripping. I really look forward to 2007 where I am going to concentrate my efforts on the schoolboy class and should be attending most of the bigger amateur nationals. After battling with the bigger stronger B class riders all year I really look forward to 2007. I really want to thank all my sponsors for all their support in 2006 if was a fun year other than the concussion I had.

Branson Nationals

Daniel Rocke traveled to Branson Mo for the annual Branson Nationals Oct 10th-Oct 15th to do battle with some of the nations best intermediate riders. Rocke worked hard all week racing in 3 classes some of which had close to 100 riders racing throughout qualifiers to make the final runoffs on Sunday. The 14 year old had some great races and actually finished with a couple of 4ths in his qualifying races and by the end on the week Rocke would earn his first top 10 at a National event since moving to full size motorcycles at the beginning of this season. Daniel- I had fun this week the track was very rough and there were some great riders there. I had some good moto's but I had a few bad ones which hurt my over standings but I know what I need to do get up there racing for wins. I really want to thank Randall for Proworks racing who helped me out all week as well as all my sponsor's and mom and dad.

Daniel Rocke resumed racing this weekend at Indiana`s premier racing facility Podium 1 after a month long layoff following a hard get off at Ponca City Ok which resulted in a concussion. Rocke, while not racing still resumed his strict training routine showed little signs of rustiness as he won the schoolboy class winning both moto`s. Also while he was resting his equipment got a much need overhaul compliments of Proworks racing www.proworksracing.com out of Houston TX.. Daniel is training hard for the Branson USA national coming up in Oct. which is one of his favorite tracks so stay tuned.

Rocke out of nationals with a concussion

Daniel was on the gas at the NMA Ponca City national championships going into his final moto in 5th place in the 125 open non-pro class when disaster struck in the first corner resulting in a DNF and a slight concussion. Though he will be fine the DR. said no riding for a least two weeks which eliminated him from competing at the AMA National championships at the Loretta Lynn`s ranch in TN. Though this was devastating news to Daniel there was some good things that happened to Daniel in OK and that is Pro-works racing of Houston TX will now be his official suspension and motor tuners. ProWorks has a long and distinguished list of pro and amateur riders that they have worked with and Daniel is proud to have them working on his machines. Daniel Rocke- "I really want to thank Randall and Kevin from ProWorks they worked with me and on my bike at Ponca and can honestly say it`s the best bike I have had. I really look forward to working with them in future. I also want to thank my mom she is just awesome and really worked hard at Ponca". Watch for Daniel at Branson this year this is one of his favorite tracks and he has vowed to bring home a win.

Sports fans keep and eye out for the green #89 as he makes his way to Ponca city OK for the NMA national championships and then straight for the grandaddy of all amateur motocross races the Loretta Lynn`s Amateur national championships held at the Loretta Lynn`s dude ranch in TN. Rocke trained and rode hard at all the qualifiers most of the spring to earn his way onto the starting gate. Good Luck Danny.

Wild regionals for Rocke

Loretta Lynn`s national championship regional qualifiers brings out the best riders in the country and this year`s races were as loaded with talent as ever. Daniel Rocke racing his first year on full size bike in the intermediate or B classes this year would have tough couple of weeks starting in Michigan at the Baja acres racing facility. Rocke, while in 5th place in his first race of the weekend took a trip over the bars and was promptly run over by another rider. His bike was destroyed and Daniel got to visit the local emergency room where he was ex-rayed and diagnosed with a broken collarbone. He was pretty dejected and he and his team loaded up and headed home. Rocke, having broken his collarbone before argued with his parents and the doctors about whether or not it was truly broken. Sure enough a second opinion by his DR. Monday morning confirmed there was some ligament damage but nothing broken. Rocke would take a break from his training routine during the week trying to heal his sore shoulder while his mechanic (dad) scrambled to get his bike up and running as he had another qualifier the following week in Alabama. Indiana Pro rider Shawn Clark came to the rescue (thanks Shawn) with some spare parts and off to Alabama team Rocket Racing went. Although sore and racing on a very rough track Rocke was on the gas throughout the weekend and went into his last moto`s (3 altogether) in a great position to qualify he was in 5th place in the stock class and 10th in the mod the top 7 get to race for a national championship in August. Rocke just needed a good start stay in the top 10 and that is excatly what he did for 4 laps Rocke battled hard until 20 feet from the checkered flag a rider t-boned him and put him on the ground Daniel would try in vain to get back up and get his bike started but the damage was done. Hopefully, with his results he will still get to the championships.

Ponca and Loretta Qualifiers

Daniel safely qualified for the Ponca City nationals actually winning a couple of races. He then traveled to PA to the Northeast area qualifiers for Loretta Lynn`s National championships. His weekend was going well with a couple of second places until the last race of the weekend when he stalled his bike after getting jammed up on the start corner he would get restarted but could only work his way back to 20th in the 40 man field. On the home front Daniel wrapped up his track season with a regional invitational meet where he won the 100 meter hurdles and also did a personal best in the high jump at 5`6" to take first place and help his team take the overall win.

Red Bud Loretta Lynn`s area qualifier

Daniel made it through the first round of qualifiers in the Mid-East regional this past weekend at Red Bud Track and Trail in Buchanan MI. In his first race against guys with national caliper speed on big bikes Rocke would battle a case of nerves, a Ill handling bike and a super rough track to prevail and qualify to go to the Regional qualifiers in June. Daniel would like to thank Speedy of Renegade suspension for making suspension adjustments.

Daniel trains for motocross by competing on his schools track team. Monday his team had it`s first competition and Daniel helped his team win by winning every event he competed in including, 100 meter hurdles, long jump, high jump and the 400 meter relay.

The 13-year old Lawrenceburg resident recently earned a qualifying spot for the largest amateur dirt bike race in the world - the 23rd annual AMA/ Air Nautiques Amateur National Motocross Championship, scheduled for Aug. 2-7 at country music star Loretta Lynn's Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. Rocke, a Sunman-Dearborn Middle School eighth-grader this fall who lives with mom and stepdad Sue and Jack Arduin at HVL, took on over 17,000 hopefuls from across America to earn one of just 1,400 nationals qualifying positions. "Every motocross racer in the country wants to compete in the Amateur Nationals," said event director Tim Cotter. "A win there can serve as the springboard to what could be a lucrative professional motocross career." Many of America's top professional motocrossers - including Jeremy McGrath, Ricky Carmichael, Travis Pastrana and James Stewart - boosted their careers with AMA Amateur national championships. A victory at nationals became even more coveted after last year's event, when two teenagers - Georgia's David Millsaps and Broc Hepler of Pennsylvania - were awarded six-figure pro contracts after winning titles. An avid motorcycle rider since the age of 4, Rocke competes with a Greenwood, Ind.-based team sponsored by Flatout Suzuki of Indianapolis, Scott Goggles, Decal Works, Twin Air, Renthal, Thor, Bridgestone Tires, Excell Rims, SIMX, D-Track and Sixth Pinned Films. He has rewarded his backers by winning a whopping 120 race titles over the past five years, competing nearly every weekend all over the Midwest. Daniel's dad Sean Rocke, a Greenwood resident, and the Arduins will work together to pack up the Rocket Racing Team trailer in time for the big trip to Tennessee in August. The young rider is one of 17,000 dirt bike racers who spent the lst four months making it through qualifying rounds for the Amateur Nationals. Top finishers in area and regional qualifiers vie for berths in the championships. Racers may enter a wide variety of classes, from minicycles for children as young as age 4, all the way up to senior division, for riders over 40. There also are competitive classes for women, as well as classes for both stock and modified motorcycles. This year's Amateur National Motocross Championships will be contested on a track built on a section of Loretta Lynn's Ranch and Campground. The challenging course contains a variety of jumps, corners and other obstacles designed to test the skills and stamina of riders. Most amateur-level nationals contenders attend the event with the help of their families. In fact, many groups consider the event their family's summer vacation. Besides racing, the ranch provides family-friendly facilities, including a game room, swimming pools, arts and crafts activities and even a fashion and talent show. Currently Daniel is spending his spring break in Cairo GA at the Millsaps Training Facility training and getting ready for his first season on full size bikes.
