At which I raced in the Open Men's <span style="font-style: italic;">Super D </span><span id="lw_1238517940_1" class="yshortcuts" style="border-bottom: 1px dashed rgb(0, 102, 204); cursor: pointer;">on Saturday</span> and the<span style="font-style: italic;"> </span>PRO <span id="lw_1238517940_2" class="yshortcuts" style="border-bottom: 1px dashed rgb(0, 102, 204); cursor: pointer;">Men's <span style="font-style: italic;">Downhill</span></span> <span id="lw_1238517940_3" class="yshortcuts" style="border-bottom: 1px dashed rgb(0, 102, 204); cursor: pointer;">on Sunday</span>.<br /><br />Super D:<br />The Fontana <span style="font-style: italic;">Super D</span> is a brutal race which consists of; a &quot;<span id="lw_1238517940_4" class="yshortcuts">Le Mans</span>&quot; style start (group running up hill to the bike), a brutal hill climb, tight loose single track, fire road, another hill climb and a long flat sprint to the finish. I was able to compete in this same race last year, so I knew how tough it was going to be. At the start I got tangled up with a fellow rider and was the 5th rider to the <span id="lw_1238517940_5" class="yshortcuts">bottom of the hill</span> climb. Yet, I was the 2nd rider to the top of the first hill climb and by the end of the first fire road I was out in front by 15 seconds. I am excited to say that I finished the race in first place, beating 11 other riders and finishing 30 seconds in front of second. Please see my post race interview - <a href="http://www.cyclingdirt.org/videos/coverage/view_video/234765-us-pro-xct-1-fontana-city-national/165732-super-d-expert-jordan" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" real_href="http://www.cyclingdirt.org/videos/coverage/view_video/234765-us-pro-xct-1-fontana-city-national/165732-super-d-expert-jordan" original_id="" original_name="" id="SAWARN1d64imb" name="SAWARN1d64imb"><span id="lw_1238517940_6" class="yshortcuts">http://www.cyclingdirt.org/videos/coverage/view_video/234765-us-pro-xct-1-fontana-city-national/165732-super-d-expert-jordan</span></a><br /><br />Downhill:<br />The Fontana National Downhill is known for being one of the more difficult races in the country. The loose sand and large boulders cause the terrain to be very tough on the racer and unforgiving of mistakes. Arriving <span id="lw_1238517940_7" class="yshortcuts" style="border-bottom: 1px dashed rgb(0, 102, 204); cursor: pointer;">on Friday afternoon</span>, I was able to get 2 practice runs in, 3 more on Saturday (before Super D) and 2 more before the race on Sunday. By Sunday, I had all my lines down and I felt confident that I could link together a strong finish barring any mechanical or other failures. On my race run I cleared all of the technical top sections and pinned all of my lines through the &quot;Waterfall&quot;, yet as I started sprinting towards &quot; The Wall&quot; section of the course (1/2 mile long/flat sprint) I felt my back tire start to wobble. Looking down I saw that it was completely flat, but was staying on the rim. From there I decided to finish the race and I sprinted the whole &quot;Wall Section&quot;, <span id="lw_1238517940_8" class="yshortcuts">flat tire</span> and all and finished with a time of 2:52. I am excited that I raced so well up until my flat and I am confident in saying that I would have had a competitive finishing time without my tire issues.<br />Please see footage of my race run - <span><a href="http://drop.io/fontucky09" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" real_href="http://drop.io/fontucky09" original_id="" original_name="" id="SAWARN1d64imb" name="SAWARN1d64imb"><span id="lw_1238517940_9" class="yshortcuts">http://drop.io/fontucky09</span></a> (it is the first video)</span><br /><br />I now have a week off before I head down to the <span style="font-style: italic;"><span id="lw_1238517940_10" class="yshortcuts">Sea Otter Classic</span></span>, at which I will be racing in the Pro Men's <span style="font-style: italic;">Downhill</span> and Pro Men's <span style="font-style: italic;">Super D</span>&nbsp; <br /><br />Thank you all for your continued support and amazing products.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline;">SPONSORS:</span><br /> WTB/SANTA CRUZ/FOX <span id="lw_1238515538_0" class="yshortcuts" style="border-bottom: 1px dashed rgb(0, 102, 204); cursor: pointer;"><span id="lw_1238517940_11" class="yshortcuts" style="border-bottom: 1px dashed rgb(0, 102, 204); background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%; cursor: pointer; -moz-background-clip: -moz-initial; -moz-background-origin: -moz-initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: -moz-initial;">SHOX</span></span><br /> SMITH Optics<br /> GAMUT USA<br /> PO1NT Racing<br /> ODI Grips<br /> <a href="http://hyperbolts.com/" target="_blank" id="SAWARN1d64imb" name="SAWARN1d64imb" rel="nofollow"><span id="lw_1238515538_1" class="yshortcuts">HyperBolts.com</span></a><br /> SIXSIXONE<br /> CrankBrothers<br /> FORMULA Brakes<br /> <a href="http://bicycleemporium.com/" target="_blank" id="SAWARN1d64imb" name="SAWARN1d64imb" rel="nofollow"><span id="lw_1238515538_2" class="yshortcuts">BicycleEmporium.com</span></a><br /><br />http://www.loopd.com/members/1downhill/blog.aspx?resourceId=7e3cc425-1a3b-4747-9aad-7ea1fc6f9565Tue, 31 Mar 2009 09:46:46 GMTRACINGRACINGhttp://www.loopd.com/members/1downhill/blog.aspx?euid=3eaa1e78-c39f-41dd-97b8-342ddc4420e6Mon, 11 Aug 2008 10:20:17 GMT2008 Sponsors<p>I am very honored and excited to announce that I will be racing in this upcoming 2008 Season with the factory support of <a href="http://www.wtb.com/">WTB Racing</a>. So... let the Cross-Training begin.<br /> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In preparation for next season, I have today (12/13/06) started my running regimen of 12 miles a week. I will be doing this to keep up my leg and lung endurance during the slow winter months. I will still be tooling around on my bike in the street, practicing low speed balance and I also want to learn how to do &quot;coaster wheelies&quot; on my Downhill Bike. When the mud does dry out enough to ride on, I will be doing as many All-Mountain (up and down hill) rides as possible.<br /> <br /> Jordanhttp://www.loopd.com/members/1downhill/blog.aspx?resourceId=e9752bd2-ade3-428e-8a58-c56a4b3273b5Wed, 13 Dec 2006 21:25:59 GMT2006 RankingsMy 2006 NORBA Rankings are as follows:<br /> Sport DH<br /> <table width="80%" border="0" align="center"> <tbody> <tr> <td class="homearticlebody">1</td> <td class="homearticlebody">Rank in your zip code (95603)</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="homearticlebody">23</td> <td class="homearticlebody">Rank in your state (CA)</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="homearticlebody">4</td> <td class="homearticlebody">Rank in your riding age (22)</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="homearticlebody">12</td> <td class="homearticlebody">Rank in 5 year age range (20-24)</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="homearticlebody">21</td> <td class="homearticlebody">Rank in 10 year age range (20-29)</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="homearticlebody">103</td> <td class="homearticlebody"><a href="https://www.usacycling.org/rankings/?org=NORBA&amp;disc=DH&amp;cat=SP&amp;sex=M">Overall Rank</a></td> </tr> </tbody> </table>http://www.loopd.com/members/1downhill/blog.aspx?resourceId=b70db816-3856-46e1-ab8f-f47115b52a29Sun, 10 Dec 2006 21:03:25 GMTNew SponsorsI feel very honored to say that next season I will be riding for SDG who will be providing me with saddles (Seats) and GAMUT, who will be providing me with bash guards and chain guides.
