The first week of the year has already been packed full of fun and exciting news. On January 1 I went on a 15 mile group ride and ended up getting my picture in the local newspaper. It was 30 and snowing pretty good when about 60 of us left the farmers market in Midland, but there is no better way to spend the first day of the year than on a bike.

Later that day my friend asked me if I wanted to try out his snow scooters, and of course I said, lets go. We went to a hill with old school scooters that had ski’s and or a snowboard bolted to the bottom and it was big time fun. I got a great workout walking back up the hill and the only thing that hurt was my cheeks from laughing and smiling so much.

On Friday January 4 I found out for sure, that I have been accepted as a factory team rider for a new sponsor. They are sending me two new bikes, and will also be helping me with travel expenses so I can go to more events, new places, meet new people, and continue living the dream. I will be announcing my new sponsor and showing off my two new bikes in just a few days.
http://www.loopd.com/members/UncleJimmi/blog.aspx?resourceId=9de05748-e64c-464d-83ff-46d51273ccf3Sun, 06 Jan 2008 16:14:00 GMTLiving the dream
Well I moved to Coleman Michigan just over one year ago after 41 years of living in south Florida. I bought a 53 year old house that has an addition built on it bringing the sq. ft. to almost 6000. In total there are 28 rooms. The house is divided into two halves, one for me and my riding buddies and one for my wife. In my end of the house there is a pool table, a ping-pong table, and a couple turn tables too.
Outside the house is six acres of beautiful woods with two creeks running through it. There are three ridgelines that run along side of the creeks providing 30 to 40 feet of elevation change. I have never seen the complete cycle of season before, just the endless summer that is Florida. I love the climate change and watching the woods come alive in the spring. It is just as amazing to watch the tree turn colure and drop their leafs.
Everything is so much different here, it is very refreshing.
I arrived in the winter and it’s winter again, for riding that means studded tires and trips to indoor skate parks and Rays MTB Park, or grabbing a snowboard and hitting the slopes.
It has been a life long dream to have an extreme playground of some sort in my back yard, and now I am in fact “living the dream”. The first year was good and I think the second year is going to be five times better. I already have a big head start with lumber stacked up ready to become new stunts, and with one or two more days of Kurt’s help with the Bob-cat the jump park will be epic.
Now my dreams are to build my back yard up until it is worthy of a pro invitational freeride jam / video making event.

You can see pictures of my back yard here http://www.mmba.org/viewtopic.php?t=71243

http://www.loopd.com/members/UncleJimmi/blog.aspx?resourceId=d4f86387-8ef8-40b4-b44f-2a13c2b66bb4Wed, 19 Dec 2007 05:49:08 GMTReady to attack!
I'm finally getting settled in here at the new house in MI

I am heading into the studio to begin editing some new vids and I will be updating my profile with pictures of the new stunts going up in the back yard.along with blogs on a regular basis.

Thanks to the whole SH family (that means you too)

See ya soon, PEACE!
http://www.loopd.com/members/UncleJimmi/blog.aspx?resourceId=7dabf9ec-e45b-4bd9-880c-2af82d8f6208Thu, 01 Feb 2007 10:54:00 GMTMoving to MI
I don't Know what happened to my other blogs but anyway, I am moving to Michigan in a few weeks.

I will have 8 acres to build trails on and 2 awesome skate parks near by and an NBL track too.

I cant wait!
http://www.loopd.com/members/UncleJimmi/blog.aspx?resourceId=8a59b6b5-9017-4ee0-817d-b083beb900e9Mon, 06 Nov 2006 18:43:37 GMTmy new house, woot woot!
I am in MI picking out my new house. I passed my BERN around for everyone to feel the difference wile using my bull-horn to explain why it is such a great helmet. The local news was there and once again I got a killer picture in the paper. I was sportin my Fuel socks, Osiris shoes, and flying the Sponsorhouse banners too. All my sponsors logos were on display as the " short bus" was parked by the ramps in plain view. We had the “Short Bus” loaded down and headed for Lakeland to meet up with Ray and Ali of Red Trail Racing. Ray invited me to perform a freeride show for the kids at YMCA on Saturday. Friday afternoon we arrived at Ray’s Ranch and started riding a variety of bridges and skinnies including one that’s 6 feet high that you huck off to a lander. Ray’s house is in the middle of 40 acres of cow fields. He has 2 quads and we went riding through the fields at night. I found a big dirt hill that we drove over from every which way and then drove to the far end of the field. On the way back to the house a huge 3000 pound black bull came out of the night and started charging me. He stopped 5 feet in front of me, kicked up some dirt and then took off. When my heart started beating again we headed back to the campfire to laugh about the whole thing. Saturday, Sponsorhouse members casey lambert and joey bunch and the Red Trail Racing crew set up at the YMCA for the freeride demo. We were all treated like rock stars and had a great time.

Casey and Joey wanted to hit-up the public skate park in downtown Lakeland so off we went. The park was small but fun and after a little riding and promoting Sponsorhouse I saw a knee high kicker 8 feet from a 4 foot high fence so I bounced out of the park.

After a quick stop to see K.C. at Bent’s Bikes we headed for “Scary Larry’s Lake House.

Larry’s was insane! Everything was big. 22 and 25 foot jumps at the bottom of some very technical bridges and drops. The lines were so addicting, and challenging every time. Just before dark some wild pigs were in the woods across the road. One of them was invited for dinner. There were 30 people at the party, all but 5 of them expected everyone to bring food so the pig was like a gift from God with no argument from Satin. (Lee was there too) To cool off, Larry has a lake jump into a clear water lake, a number of cliff diving spots, and the scariest rope swing in the world. We all partied around the camp fire and ate that hog until there was nothing left. Not even a strip of bacon for breakfast.

The people were great, the weather was perfect, and the fun never stopped. The 3 ½ hour ride home seemed quick and easy because I could not stop replaying the whole time in my head, at times bursting into laughter for no apparent reason.
I will be adding several pictures to my profile soon and I will be working on another video that I am sure will be my best one by a long shot. http://www.loopd.com/members/UncleJimmi/blog.aspx?resourceId=a95caf07-4bde-4fa5-8ec6-113f4581d843Tue, 17 Oct 2006 20:40:19 GMTMedia surprise!Ya never know where Uncle Jimmi is going to show up next. One of my costumers saw me in this magazine. The picture is from a show I did with the Teem Terror mini MX Show. It was a huge Harley Davidson party and thousands of custom bikes and party loving people were there. Saturday August 5th 2006 was the Freeride Challenge& Dirt jump contest at Santos in Ocala Florida. Plenty of people showed up to compete and even more showed up to watch. Santos state park has the most intense mountain bike trails, freeride hucks, and dirt jumps in the state of Florida. I was the only competitor riding a hard tail and a 3-inch travel fork in the freeride comp and the 20-foot drop looked like the lander was a little flat so I took a pass on that one. I did do the 15-foot drop and landed at the 20-foot mark, but they don't score the same for that. Then we gathered at the dirt jumps and the spectators were lined up from top to bottom. I flowed my first run and did a slow motion back-flip on the last jump. My second run was lame because my timing was off, however I did clear all the jumps in the line. On my third run I flipped the third jump and did a big no footer on the last jump to take the win. Second place went to a young man they call Bedtime Ben and he's getting good so fast that I have probably beaten him for the last time. I was just happy to be out riding, so you can imagine how pumped I was to have meet a super cool dude (Bill Miller) local to Ocala. In fact he is one of the original trail cutters that got Santos started in the first place. It turns out that we know a bunch of the same people throughout the entire state. Then I survived the big drops and jumps and was crowned dirt jump king of the day. Then I saw my friend bust his first back flip ever. Another one of my friends thought he lost his backpack with 1500 dollars worth of camera equipment, but I told him it would get returned and it did. Then I got some unexpected company for the four-hour ride home. (Thanks Bobby) Nothing went as planed and everything went perfect. What a great weekend!http://www.loopd.com/members/UncleJimmi/blog.aspx?resourceId=e310c2b7-fd61-45b2-a80e-fd0a14e35c40Tue, 08 Aug 2006 00:00:00 GMTNew sponsorsI am proud to announce my newest sponsors Mxwebsites.com and Osiris shoes I have already started building my new website "unclejimmi.com" Mike Wendricks has made it very easy to build a super cool site, and he is a very cool person too. He (Mxwebsites.com) can help you register your name or nickname and have your site ready to build to suit whatever sport you are into. He is also in full support of the Sponsorhouse program and if you are an athlete interested in having your name registered before your evil parallel universe twin takes it first, then you should apply for sponsorship and see what happens. Osiris shoes are available in a wide variety of style and colures that will excite your personality. Craftsmanship that will ensure you they are ready to ride anything you are. They are so comfortable you will never want to wear anything but Osiris. I am honored to represent so many great companies. I truly believe they are all the very best in what they do. I am stoked beyond words to be a featured athlete for Mxwebsites.com - Osiris shoes - Deity components - Goat eyewear - Magura brakes - Marzocchi USA - and Fuel clothing. I also receive support from SponsorHouse - Bern helmets - Atlantic bicycles - Dangerboy components - Freeridesouth.com - and Maxxis tires. Please take the time to look at all my sponsors.http://www.loopd.com/members/UncleJimmi/blog.aspx?resourceId=07861721-3c25-45cf-b165-7102b00bd588Fri, 07 Jul 2006 00:00:00 GMTOver 5000 views / New demo DVDIt has been a wile since my last up-date, but as you can see I have been busy promoting all my sponsors. Over 5000 hits on my SH profile and over 60 SH friends. I have also been working on a new rider demo DVD The demo will be viewed at a Roam release party Sunday May 7 and then distributed to all my SH friends, my family and to all my sponsors. Thanks everyone, I'm living a dream! Today I went to Frogs hide-a-way to practice on the jumps and it was a blast. This will be the largest audience I have ever entertained. The event draws thousands of extreme sports fans. I did not crash but I could barely walk afterwards. Since then Mike G made the jump much smoother. Saturday afternoon I arrived at the TOE and set up the Atlantic pro pit, complete with a home stereo running from a generator which also powered the florescent lights, laptop and car stereo so we could watch riding DVD's in style late into the night. Speaking of style at night, we also hooked up lights in jumpland and a bunch of us were hitting the B line.It was like jumping into a black hole on the last two jumps, but it was a blast and nobody was hurt or even went down which is incredible considering how many beers did. On Sunday after a run to the corner store for my gallon cup of coffee we cooked eggs for breakfast and shortly there after were we getting in a little practice before the comp. After looking at every jump from every angle to figure out the best one to try and back-flip I decided that the last one in the big line would be the one. If the jump were all by itself, no problem, but keeping your speed, rhythm, and concentration through the first two to get there is another story. Just before practice was over I tried the flip and probably should have stayed on, but I felt an easy out, so I bailed. As I walked my bike back to the Atlantic tent so Santiago could tweak it back into shape I was thinking about my timing, the rotation was good but for a distance that would clear the deck and I was going to be a little short. I made 6 or 8 more runs trying to increase my speed as much as possible and overshoot the last jump. It was difficult to find my rhythm and I kept casing the jump. So remembering that I was not going to let the crowd or comp get to me, I went back to the tent to relax. Let the games begin! The jumping began and while I watched I stretched my back and legs. I was thinking of my run and decided that I would flow the first two jumps for speed and flip only if the conditions were perfect, and they were perfect! It was the biggest and best back flip I ever did. The second run was a glory run smooth and safe. Tooth pullers revenge! The comp. moved to stunt land ware we were given 2 two minute free-runs. (go any ware) I started with the teeter totter tower of terror and Rick held the small teeter up so I could ride it backwards, then I went up to the new sky bridge, into the clam shell, around the berm and over the tooth puller (dubbed from my last visit) with enough time left to go back through the skeleton, across the bridge and huck the right line. It felt great and seemed easy, one of days when it just goes your way.
