2009 Nationals!

Hello Everyone,

I've just returned from the 2009 Nationals Championships at Sol Vista in Colorado. I finally had competition for the nationals this year. I was super excited and ready to win my title back! Sol Vista was awesome the course was good and the resort was great. I got First place and I'm super happy.
I met up with the Allride Team and also talked with some awesome pros.
The only downside was that because, I am only 13 so my racing age is 14 which meant that I had to race in the junior category. My dad and I tried to move me to Expert , but the officals stood their ground and would not let me move up. However next I'll be all good because my racing age will be 15. So I will definately be racing Expert next year.

Races Update

Hi everyone,

Im really sorry that i haven't updated in a while, but i have been extremely busy with my training and end of year school projects.

1st off, The Sea Otter Classic, this race has always been my favorite i love the atmosphere and all of the people. I had a very clean race run and ended up getting first place. There was nobody in my category but, i did get the best over all female category 2 time.

Spring Thaw in Ashland, Oregon. This race was a great cool down after all of the crazieness of Sea Otter. Ths course was really long and super smooth. This race was also my first Expert race There was one other person in my category, i got first place beating her by 3 seconds.

Hey everyone,

i wanted to give an update on my race. Sorry this is so late i have been reallly busy.
Fontana was super fun, i loved the course. I ended up getting first, beating the other girl by 7 seconds. I am really excited. I also got my new v-10. it is awesome! There are pictures of the race and my bike in the pictures section of my profile and at this website. www.wsmithphoto.com

so i have great news SantaCruz Bicycles have asked me to ride on their all ride academy team again for the 09' season!

im sooo excited and feel very lucky to be part of the team again.
they are also letting me pick any SantaCruz frame of my choice!

I can't wait for the race season....

sooooo im doing great haha.

Hey everyone,

So this was my last race of the year. This course was just a jump course, not really downhill but it was still really fun.

The girl i raced was 17 years old and usually races in the Open Class, she really fast. I dont think that getting 2nd place to a pro was that bad....

anyways i had a great race.

Hey everyone,

I raced today and had a soild run. The race course was really long and tough. it had big jumps and technical rock gardens. It was just the way i like it.

But.........a few weeks ago i was hitting a jump and cased it bad. And i ended up hurting my knee. I raced today and it wasn't too bad but i was bad enough that i'm going to see a doctor.

I'll be fine, but atleast if it's serious I'll have all winter to recover.

Hey everyone,

Im totally back... I've made a full recovery. I was recently a Northtar and i was riding like I was never even hurt.

Im looking a doing some races in Febuary and March to be ready for my bigger races. The thing that i need and want the most is to be back on a race course again. I seriously can not wait to race again. It was absolutly killing not to be able to ride and race.

Im back and better then ever..... See you in the 09' season!

Hey everybody it's Wednesday June 25....... got some really good news.

I'm pretty much all healed up. The doctor says that everything is healing normal.

Today I went on my first ride since I broke my ankle and it felt great. I had the biggest smile on my face. I cant wait to start racing again!!!!!!!!

I'm going to start going to Northstar and riding again. I cannot wait.

The only sort of bad part is that next week I have to go in for " Hardware" removel surgery to get the pins out of my ankle but.....thats no big deal i'll be up and running again in about a week.

This is Cierra's Dad I just wanted to update this for her real quick.

Cierra was unfortunate enough to break her right ankle in 2 places the night before we were to leave for Sea Otter. 4 screws, 1 Ti plate and 2 pins. She is out for a little bit.................but ready to kill it when she comes back.

What a cool week.

This week I heard from Kirt Voreis that he will now be the new manager of the NEW 6 person Santa Cruz Academy race team. Kirt and Rob asked me if I would like to be part of the team and after riding for the Santa Cruz Syndicate Jr Division for the last 3 seasons ther is no way I could say no.

It's Kirt Voreis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited for the 08' season, I can't wait to meet new people and learn from some of the best............Dude, Kirt Voreis.

I also signed with ODI grips this past week and my Dad is looking at the MRP contract as well...........cool week.

My Dad and I are starting to train for Sea Otter, I dont think my Dad is going to race Otter, but I'm sure he will find a way to walk or ride the course with me.

Thanks Rob,Kirt, Jim, ...................and really.....Florian and Lori....for a great start. .
