It is without Bear Valley Bikes that I would not be where I am today and not be riding the bike I am on today. That bike has helped me win many races affording me to see some light at the end of my tunnel. Also the support I got from Derek and every one else at Bear Valley Bikes has been enormous and I would not be racing at the level I am today without their help. So thanks heaps you guys, love ya! And I wish the best of luck to you guys with this up coming season. My first race was a major learning experience and has greatly affected how all of my races have gone since. I cam out 3 at that race largely due to a fall and my determination to get back up and push forward to regain the positions that I lost. After that every time I roll up tot he start I am on mission to go out hard and fast and set an early fast past in hopes of breaking the competition. For the past three races that strategy has been securing me with first place. This weekend in San Diego things got a little challenging. My day started out well with having breakfast with a local racer and her family. I found the track really easy that morning. The cross was well suited to a mountain bike and since that is the only bike I have for cross that was a really good thing. During warm up a lot of people seemed to be paying me a lot of attention, still can`t figure out why. I was just ring laps around the velo drome. I guess I looked like I knew what I was doing or something because people kept taking pictures of me. At the start line was when things began to go down hill. I forgot to pin on my number, and then I got stuck behind some guys at the start. I final secured the front of the womens B race and was just trying to hold it. I found some fun sections of the course to get a little air each lap and to have something to look forward to. On my forth lap I endowed hard off the little jump. Got up and kept going. Then I was caught. And had to play a game of cat and mouse for the last four laps. Some how I pulled it off on the last lap and broke away from her but I was really hurting form that fall. So now I have two weeks off to recuperate and go skiing. My next cross race will be the California State Championships in Irvin. If all goes well I will have the state title. Until then school, rest and riding are the only things I need to worry about.http://www.loopd.com/members/supperd/blog.aspx?resourceId=41ced444-2115-40dd-b952-ca19f203cc3cMon, 21 Nov 2005 00:00:00 GMT
