Kula Barbieto is Roxy’s “Water Woman.” She’s a surfer, avid fisher, certified lifeguard, big wave charger and actress. Originally from the beautiful island Ka’u, Hawaii; she now resides on Oahu to take advantage of the surf and many diverse opportunities the island has to offer.
This international surfer and model has traveled the world as one of the faces of the Roxy brand. Most recently, Kula journeyed aboard the Indies Trader, a 75-foot salvage vessel that’s better known as the Quiksilver Crossing. Countless discoveries have been made over the years on this boat – finding untouched waves and studying the state of coral reefs and this fisherwoman has hooked right into the core of what the Crossing mission is all about.
Out of the numerous waves that she has surfer, Honolua Bay in Maui is so far her favorite. Kula’s ongoing involvement with films and national TV shows as a stunt surfer and actress has taken this athlete to a new level. She has starred in MTV’s “Surf Girls” and she is an inspiration and role model to the younger generations in Hawaii. This small town girl has made her dreams come true, even the biggest ones.
