Q&A - Competition

How did you get started?

I pass by the local track every day and asked my parents to take me there. I first rode the local track with my training wheels on and when my parents said I could race if I dropped the trainers, I made them take them off and started riding from then on. I started racing in 2005 right after getting the trainers off and haven't stopped since.

List your competitive highlights:

2008 Accomlishments: Twenty 1st places; six 2nd places. First at both State Qualifiers competed in. Overal ND 2nd place for 8 year olds. Only 8 year old Expert to compete in State Races and raced 9 year olds experts in Finals. Finished 11th in the State of North Dakota overall. As an expert - consistantly racing kids 2-3 years older than me and being competitive and often winning against them. 2007 Main Event Accomplishments: Fastrax BMX Track Overall Points Champion- 1st Place Redline Cup Qualifier- 1st Place State Qualifier Double points race- 3rd Place Earned Double points race- 14 First Place finishes- 3 Second Place finishes- 6 Third Place finishes- 1 Fifth place finish- 2006 Main Event Accomplishments: 1st Prairie Rose State Games (age and proficiency)- 1st Place State Qualifier- 1st Place Hull Rust Track, Hibbing, MN- 1 Second Place finish- 12 Third Place finishes- *** 2006 was my first full year of racing and I achieved my first win in Minnesota and a 1st place at the Prairie Rose State Games held in Bismarck.---- 2005 Main Event Accomplishments: 3rd Place State Qualifier- 2 Second Place finishes- 3 Third Place finishes- 1 Fourth and 1 Fifth- ***2005 was the year I got my training wheels off and was “officially” able to start racing.

What are you planning for next season?

My goal for next sesason is to be faster than this year. To get better at jumping. Beat the 11 and 12 year olds at the track

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

Jumping the doubles and achieving expert level this year and being the only 8 year old expert in the State of North Dakota.
