Post a BlogRaced BMX for about a dozen years, earning numerous top 10 national titles and a trip to the 1997 UCI World Championships. Got a lot more into MTB over the last several years, after moving back to PA and finding some great guys to ride with. Got a bike that could handle my aggressive style of riding, and got totally hooked again.
Now that I'm living in the Charlotte, NC area, I've gotten involved with the local MTB clubs, and enjoy milder weather for year round bikey enjoyment!
While I compete a lot less than I used to, biking remains a huge part of my life, and I am a visible and active in many ways:
- at work: I organize rides with people at work, and promote my biking-related activities (like the Cancer Society Bike-a-thon and the Jump Jam benefit)
- in my neighborhood: I help kids with bike repairs, bike skills, organize rides, promote bike shops and events
- at my local trails: ride, ride, ride. Helping others progress their skills, doing trail work, etc.
- in my community: being an advocate for bike access, participating in skatepark fundraising and organization, promoting various bike-related events and activities
