Promotion 101

Why promote yourself? You might want to attract sponsors, get exposure for your existing sponsors, find new friends, show your current friends what you're up to or even build up a fan base. Whatever your reason, we're here to help. The new Promote Yourself section provides you with a list of tools and ideas to help you tie all of your online activity together for the purpose of promotion and communication.

For the full effect, you'll need to lay the groundwork. By following these three simple guides, you'll be in good shape.

1) Make this the place for you as an athlete.

You already have other social networks for all your friends and hooking up, use your profile herefor your sport and promoting yourself in that sport. Your photos, videos, results, info – should all be focused on you, your sport and the lifestyle that comes with it. Add the ‘About Me’ and ‘Self Interview’ modules to your profile.

Erik Baldwin (Surf), Sean Logan (BMX), Brad Graham (Moto) and Rich Houseman (MTB) are just a few great examples of athletes that are utilizing their profiles to showcase their riding, skating, surfing or racing.

Products

2) Post Updates that will keep people coming back .

Keep people updated with frequent posts, then add your feed to your other social network profiles so you don’t have to double up. Post a quick update after each session with photos and videos, post news that you dug or post info about new gear you’ve been running. Just keep them coming… the more active you are on the Network, the more exposure you’ll get.

Be an active member of the Loop'd Network

3) Be active & positive.

Post comments, send messages and be a valuable member of the community through positive interaction. Why? Because if it's promotion, exposure and networking your looking for - positive & active wins every time.
